Great Daily Pack

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I use this backpack every day. It's size is deceiving. I am able to fit a lot of things in it. For commuting I always have a 15 inch laptop with a mouse and charger; I keep all my phone accessories in the top pocket for quick use; The second pocket easily fits my gym clothes and sneakers. The pouch pockets are a little on the small side but I keep my Nalgene bottle secured in the helmet pocket. I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase, got it on sale but would have paid full price for it. I have had no issues with straps or product quality at all. Maybe the other reviewer got a lemon. I consistently have 10+ lbs in the pack and it handles it nicely. The only inconvenience I have come across is that I have to unbuckle the helmet straps and unzip the pockets until they are almost completely open in order to get all my stuff in. Minor inconvenience but it is hard to get at items packed in the bottom without doing so. A little difficult if your commute is on a packed train and you realize you need something that is buried. Overall it's what I expected from Kelty which is the main reason I chose this pack over others in the first place.

Shoulder strap broke on first day!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Shoulder strap broke on the first day of school, the first day I used it. Didn't even have textbooks yet, just 3 binders, two notebooks, and a novel. There is almost no reinforcement to the bottom of the strap, so it ripped right off. Not something you would expect from a high adventure backpack manufacturer.
