First time use- I'm a believer
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
I have gone hiking lots of times and have never gotten into trekking poles. I can say after this trip, I am a believer! There is nothing crazy amazing about this specific set, although I like the cork handles, the telescoping way they break down, and they have a little bit of shock resistance wish is really nice for downhill. Went backpacking for 3 days with them and I was so glad I had them.

- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
These are my first set of trekking poles. I am very satisfied with the quality and ease of use these present for the low price. The cork grip is comfortable all day and is friendly to grab even after sweat pours all over it. The straps are very comfortable given the padding and the tops are simple to grip when going downhill.
The anti shock springs are a big asset to this pole in particular compared to other, more expensive, anti shock poles. The only downside is the spring is audible when the pole is mis-planted.
The included rubber tips are great for protecting rocks from scratches and traction on rough surfaces but are very slippery on wet wood. Dry day = leave no trace rubber tips. Wet day = carbon tip all good combo.
The basket seems a bit large.
A Must
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I needed these for when doing longer hikes. These save my knees and are great for when descending on steeper hikes. Comfortable grips, easy to adjust and very durable. I will probably use these as touring poles in the winter as well
is this a single pole or a set?
