The Kelty Moraine Backpack is a versatile, hydration-compatible overnight pack. Put everything you need for your adventure in this top-loader. Ample room, adjustable padded shoulder straps and waist belt, and a breathable back panel make the Moraine an ideal quick-trip pack. Throw a couple of water bottles in the Moraine's side mesh pockets or stow your water bladder in the hydration sleeve for your trek through the woods. The Moraine's large front pocket with an inner organizer as well as a stash pocket and security pocket help keep smaller gear in check. A fleece-lined optics pocket protects your shades.

good pack for small sized

I am really short so I wanted a pack that would fit me as a woman and also someone who has a short torso. The great thing about this Kelty pack is that it does exactly that. You can actually see my head above the pack! Besides that though you can fit maybe about a week's clothing in it depending on how much you wish to wear etc. It is relatively small but it's extremely comfortable once you pack it full. It has the nice double drawstring feature on the top so you can assure your belongings won't fall out. I also like the top pocket and the pocket in the actual hood. This is a great value priced pack.

I just used my Kelty Moraine Backpack for 2 days hike. After the first half a day my front hip bone area on both sides were completely sore, bruised not chapped. I have seen other backpacks with more thick foam padding for the hip strap. Is it just my packs design or am I doing something wrong?

It's the fit of your pack. There are many different adjustments to be made on a pack when carrying it, and doing any of them wrong will make your pack ride badly on your hips or shoulders. Try this:http://www.netbackpacking.com/selecting-and-fitting-a-m

This pack is used mostly by my daughter. She had an aggressive 5 mile hike with camp out to do and she is quite petite. 5'2" and not 100 lbs. But she said the pack handled great and was light and carried all she needed to take.
