A friend just bought the kelty light year xp 20 long from you on sale for $75. Do you still have this bag available and can I get it at that price?

Hey Adam,

Your friend must have caught it on one of the bigger recent sales. Unfortunately, once those sales end, that's it. However, this is still a good sale price, and if you find the exact same item somewhere else for less, Backcountry will match it. Good luck.

Hey Adam,

Also check out Backcountry's affiliated website I've seen this sleeping bag on there numerous times and for the price you're referring to. The site is based off of availability so you just have to be lucky and patient, but a lot of times you can score some awesome deals. Good luck.

Great bag

This is an awesome sleeping bag, it kept me war, when in was around 30 degrees outside. My only complaint is the drawstring for the hood, its not very smooth and hard to tighten.

Great bag

Great for the price

I bought this bag for about $75 after a random discount... definitely worth $75. I've now slept in it for a week long trip in over 4 feet of snow in Pictured Rocks, MI. Temps were in the high singles to mid-teens at night that week (8-16F). I had a waterproof Gore-tex cover to keep it from getting soaked (mostly from condensation in our tent), and that was plenty warm together. I am 5'7" and 150 lbs. I guess I have broad shoulders...I have trouble moving around (either the zipper slides down, or the whole bag turns with me). "A zippered chest pocket stows your headlamp in case you have to get during the night." I have yet to find this mysterious pocket. Hahaha. Overall though, it's a great bag.

mysterious pocket is on the left side of the bag - right in-between the grey and green colors.

Great Bag

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Does what it's advertised to do. Took it out on the AT last weekend, with temps dipping into the 20s. Worked great. Even had the added benefit of having enough room to cram my girlfriend in with me when her bag got too cold :). Can't complain about that.

I'm 6'1" 170lbs and the long length was plenty. Room to pack wet stuff at your feet if you have any. Not sure I'm crazy about the mummy cinching design, but then again, I rarely ever use that feature on other bags either.

Got this bag on steepandcheaps steal for 64$ about 2 months ago. Finally got to use it. (i'm 6'2" and VERY broad. XXL shirts are tight on me and i felt very comfortable. I was snug but not in a nuisance or overbearing wear. Great product. Very satisfied.

Does this bag have a zippered foot vent?

Does this bag have a zippered foot vent?

Responded on

3/4+ length zipper, however, you can unzip from the bottom up, thus venting the lower part of the bag...

Solid bag

Just got back from a long weekend in Rocky Mountain National Park where it dipped down into the low 40s and I was nice and toasty but not overly hot. The zippers dont snag too much and the loops to secure a sleeping pad under it are a nice feature. The only downside is the included compression sack. It feels like its going to split apart at the seams when you're compressing the bag, but you just have to be careful. Overall a very nice bag for the price!
