Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down - 2008 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
Sleeping out in the summer can be cool and comfy, unless you're having a sweat-attack in your bag. Thanks to a zippered foot vent and a two-way, hip-length zipper in the Kelty Light Year 40-Degree Down Sleeping Bag, you can let cool air in before you get all hot and clammy. Kelty also made this mummy bag with 650-fill down, so you can camp in the mountains without getting chilled. The Light Year 40 Degree Down Bag's sculpted hood surrounds your noggin without making you feel claustrophobic. Down fill holds its loft season after season.
Bottom Line: Lessen your sweaty and clammy awakenings with Kelty's Light Year 40 Degree Down Bag.

Disappointed in BC

Bag looked great, loved the specs and was pumped to see it waiting for my when i got home. Only to open box and find out that the bag had a burn hole (see pic), what looked like a partly melted area, had dirt spots all over it and smelled funky. I was very disappointed with backcountry for selling me a product that was this messed up. I'm sure that bag is great, but I'll never know.
Light weight and warm

Used this bag on my recent trip on the AT in the smokies. Temps ranged from 30 to 55 degress F. Used the Sea-to-Summit Thermolite sleeping bag liner on the coldest nights and was quite warm. At 1lb 12 ounces it was nice and light. Would have been too hot in my Northface Blue Kazoo.

It's what I wanted and comes as advertised. It's a very light and good looking bag. For the money fantastic so far. If you need to stay warm you have to be all the way in it, all zipped in. I'm a brawny dude and it's a little tight when mummified. I will be double checking weather and overnight temps before committing to this bag each time.
Light and Compact

Used it for an ultralight bikepacking trip... a long one. This bag treated me well. Take care of the bag, and it will take care of you. Shoved this bag into an OR 5L dry bag along with my Therma Rest and some cold weather gear... that's a lot of stuff for just a 5L bag!!! I was warm down to just below 30 (with bivy)- but I'm normally a warm guy, too. Plenty of room in the bag to move around, throw in the foot vent, and you're dreaming of tomorrow's mountain before you can say "Wow, I'm glad I read some reviews."
Change me.

Good warm weather backpacking bag
This is a great lightweight bag for summer backpacking. It compresses really small and the included compression stuff sack is of great quality itself too. more...
