Description

The Gunnison wants to come, too.

Take the Kelty Gunnison 3 Tent along for anything from warm summer nights in the desert to brisk fall backpacking trips. This three-person, three-season tent lets you set up quickly with just two poles and provides ample sleeping room without adding unnecessary weight to your pack.
  • Waterproof fly and floor fabric feature fully taped seams for added protection from rainstorms and soggy weather
  • ArcEdge floor means the floor material extends a few inches up the tent walls to reduce seam-to-ground contact
  • Color-coded clips, two-pole design, swivel hub tech, Jake's Foot stakeouts, and Press Fit connectors make for a quick, easy setup every time
  • DAC Featherlite NSL poles keep weight to a minimum without sacrificing strength or durability
  • Jake's Foot fly attachment utilizes a ball and socket design to keep the pole end in place during setup and easily pops out for take-down
  • Mesh wall panels increase airflow to decrease condensation and stuffiness
  • Internal storage pockets keep your flashlight, maps, and trail wares accessible
  • Dual vestibules give you plenty of covered space for your gear
  • Welded fly window lets you check weather without getting out
  • Noiseless zipper pulls let you sneak out to the loo without waking everyone
  • Gear-loft loops enable you to hang your headlamp when it gets dark
  • Footprint available separately

Love it

I have the 2008 version with the maroon vs the blue. I have used this tent more times than I can count. Have never had any issues with it. My wife and 6 yr old stayed in it on our last trip with our 60 and 70 pound dogs. The 4 of them had plenty of room without feeling crowded. The only draw back is the weight but for the price it's hard to beat.

well made tent

Used it twice so far and have no complaints. Only possible con would be the strength of the stakes, they aren't the strongest, so while driving them into hard ground don't be surprised if they bend on you. Otherwise very happy so far.

I'm looking to compare this to the Big Agnes Sunny Side (3 person/3 season). Does anyone have any insight?
I'm focused mostly on portability as I will be using this while backpacking.

3.1 for the lady, mutt, me + gear

My wife and I love this tent. It keeps us completely dry, has plenty of room for us and our 60 pound mutt. I am 6'3" 240 lbs and don't feel cramped at all. We are able to keep some gear inside the tent and our packs and shoes in the rainfly vestibules on either side of the tent.
The first time I pitched the tent I left the rainfly off to take advantage of the expansive windows to check out the stars. Late in the night I awoke to rain. I was able to throw the rainfly over the tent quickly and clamp to the corners easily. Highly recommended.
