Know that feeling when you've been hiking, take your pack off while you have a snack, and have to suffer the cold, soggy misery of a soaked back panel when you load up again? Kelty designed the Fleet 55 Women's Backpack with an AirMesh backpanel, shoulder straps, and waist belt to keep sweat from building up, and used an Agile butterfly suspension to comfortably carry the load while leaving spaces for air to move. Since more of the weight will be riding on your hips, your load won't feel as heavy, and you'll be able to cover more ground with less effort.
Of course, it's all moot if you don't have the room to carry a lot of gear in the first place. The Fleet can easily pack in a long weekend's worth of clothes, food, and shelter, with a 55L capacity, zippered sleeping bag compartment, and loads of pockets. It also has straps for trekking poles and ice axes, compression straps to cinch down the load, and a hydration-compatible design to keep you hydrated when you're on the move.
