You don't have to skimp on tent space when you go ultra light. The Kelty Corrie Tent gives you room to toss and turn in your sleep yet allows you to shave the ounces from your pack. Lightweight but durable silicone-impregnated nylon makes up the fly on this waterproof two-person tent and provides you with a vestibule for your packs and muddy shoes. Take off the fly in pleasant weather and enjoy a cooling breeze through the mesh door and roof. Setting up the Corrie with its featherweight DAC poles and hubs is simple.

Bottom Line: Going light doesn't have to be about being Spartan.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

I was wondering if anyone who has used a Kelty Corrie 2 had problems with drafts. I went out with it this past weekend (found one used...) and found that I was quite cold as the temperatures dropped through the night. It topped out around 34 degrees outside which was colder than I expected, but I don't think there was a different between the outer and inner temperatures. I shut the vents, but there was still a strong draft coming through somewhere. Anyone have this experience/have any advice? I really like the tent otherwise...

The floor is like a v so..if your both tall one of you will have some feet near your face. I the ceiling height is something to be happy about and space in general. Very good design overall. I really wish it came with a floor print and also it doesn't compress very good. Great tent overall You won't regret buying it.

The stakes suck big time so. Expect to use stakes from a different tent or buy some better ones.

True, the Corie doesn't come in a 3-person but the Ouray has a similar feature set and is a 3-person, 3 season tent for close to the same price: http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Kelty-Ouray-3-Tent-3-Person-3-Season/KEL0545M.html

Kelty is no longer making the Corrie tent & there was never a 3-person version, only a 3-season.

BEST TENT I'VE OWNED!!!!

By:
July 27, 2009

I've used many different styles and brands of tents when cmaping and hiking. I can confidently say this is the best tent I've used over my many years of hiking and camping. It's really light weight and provides really good cross ventilation for those warm nights, even with the fly on. There are three external vents that are on the fly that allow you to have them open or closed. I've found on the more chilly nights in late fall, the tent is actually noticablly warmer with the three vents closed. And the mesh part of the tent still allows good ventilation. I've never had a problem with any condesation. Took this tent on a 3 day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks witha a group of friends and absolutely loved it. There is enough space for two people. (i.e. a 5'5" person and a 6' person fit well) Sleeping pads could overlap at the back of the tent, but I've never really found it to be much of a problem at all. The vestibule area is spacious enough to handle a big 75 liter backpack and a few other items as well. If you are using two people in the tent, you might find it a bit crowded with all your packs right outside your door. (Depends on how big your packs are) I would recomend getting like a shower curtin or something to that effect for a tarp on the inside of the tent. This tent is much easier to set up as well because of the hub sections connecting the poles, which makes for fast set up and break down. I've been in pouring rains and moderate winds (5-10mph) and in the hot warm nights as well and this tent has performed outstanding to many other tents I've tried.

I definately recomnd this to both solo and double hikers and campers. It works well if you are solo cause everything fits inside nicely and nothing has to be outside except your shoes.

It doesn't come with the footprint it's sold seperately. Not sure why it's not showing up on BC.com but you can get the footprint on The Department of Goods: http://www.departmentofgoods.com/sales/Kelty-Corrie-2-Footprint/KEL0610M.html.

Nice Tent

By:
October 20, 2009

Only took it on one extended trip in Shenandoah, but so far I'm liking this tent. It's really light and easy to set up. It was a bit snug with me and my wife in it, so for an extended stay during heinous weather you might consider something a little bigger, but there's definitely plenty of room for sleeping (I probably turn about 50 times a night!)and the fly covered both of our packs at night. Time will tell about durability but remember this is an ultralight so some care is advised. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and the price I paid. Of course BC's service was awesome as always.

Awesome Tent

By:
September 29, 2009

Took it hiking around the Rockies and was not disappointed! Packs small, very light and extremlly easy to put up and take down. Held out the rain vary nicely and even the hail and sleet. Only complaint with it is with two people and gear it would be tight at best, you'll get to know your tent-mate really well. Also get the footprint if you are going anywhere other than a sandy beach, the bottom, though sturdy, is pretty thin.
