Nice Bag

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great bag for the money. I spent four days and nights alone in Michigan's North in single digit temps - I was unbelievably warm the whole time. I like the shape - not a fan of mummy bags. Not too heavy for packing although 850 down fill would pack smaller and lighter. I am a mover all night long so the extra room in legs and feet was awesome. I cannot say enough how impressed I am with this 0* bag for $200.

Nice Bag

Warm and a Great Fit

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased this for my dad for Christmas and he loves it. The aspect he loves the most is that he can fit comfortably in this bag. He is 6'5" with wide shoulders so has issues with not fitting in a lot of bags. This bag has ample room and doesn't squeeze his shoulders and actually fits up around his head.

For being such a big bag it is actually pretty light and can be used for backpacking. The zipper on the bag is nice too and keeps from getting snag- it also extends all the way down around the feet, not a 3/4 length zipper which I see a lot.

Very Warm!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just used this for camping in the Sierras. Temps down in the 40's and I had to shed all my layers as I hot. I have always been a cold sleeper. Used a 25degree Kelty synthetic prior and this is way, way warmer. I bought the long version which is prefect for my 6'1" height. Much prefer this over my prev mummy bag for both warmth and space.

Great winter car camping bag

I enjoy camping year round and needed a bag that could keep me warm, but wasn't as confining as a true mummy bag. This bag is semi-rectangular which gives plenty of room to move around, yet still tapers at the bottom which helps with heat retention. The bag has great loft and is so "puffy" you feel like you're sleeping in a cloud. The full length zipper is great because you can vent the footbox if your feet get too warm. This bag kept me plenty warm in temps as low as 30 and have no doubt it would perform at lower temps. The stuff sack that comes with it is actually a stuff/compression sack which is an added bonus. The zip-off hood allows you to customize your bag if the temps aren't too cold...great feature not seen in other bags. Highly recomend this bag for car camping (too bulky/heavy for backpacking).
