With the Kelty Chuck Wagon Dog Pack, your best friend will also be an equal as they do their own packing in and out. Expandable saddlebags adjust to the size of a load and an internal organizer will keep you from reaching for the poo instead of the food. The adjustable harness prevents chafing, and padded buckles protect Rover's belly and chest from abrasion. Plus, the rugged construction of ripstop nylon protects the pack from tree scrapes and river rock. There's also an easy-grip handle for hoisting over logs and boulders, a removable bear bell to ward off unwanted stalkers and 3M reflective tape for stray evenings.

Bottom Line: Why should you carry for two? Your pup will be proud to carry his own in the Chuck Wagon.

Adjusting your dog's pack

By:
November 14, 2005

I have horses and believe me it is of the utmost importance that you adjust the straps to be snug. If not, it will cause chafing and shifting of the pack. You think you are harming the dog by it being snug but on the contrary, you are not accomplishing what the pack is designed for comfort. Just a thought!

Perfect for my Great Dane

Never thought I'd find a pack appropriate for my huge Dane. Extra-Large never includes my breed until now. Thanks much!

extra large is huge

By:

Great pack, however the extra large was way too big for my well-fed 105lb 36.5" girth shepherd. If your dog is 38" girth, I would recommend you buy the large size or a smaller size.

Kelty Dog Pack

By:

Good pack -- However, extra-large size truly is for a very large dog. This pack swallowed my 65# lab. Much too big for the average large dog.

Fit

By:

The pack is OK overall but it tends to slip from side to side a little and there is no way to adjust where it sits from front to back either.

Awesome Packs

By:

I've looked everywhere for a pack that wasn't too long and the Kelty is a perfect fit for my dogs. It keeps the weight over the shoulders instead of on the back. The large fits my male (100lb) and the medium fit my female (85lb). It is easy to adjust and stays put if you fit it correctly (snug).
