You don’t have to clomp around in big, heavy combat boots just because there’s a foot of snow on the ground. The Keen Women’s Winthrop WP Boots are sleek, sexy, and ready for winter. These calf-length boots’ supple leather uppers look stylish with jeans or a skirt, and their Keen.Dry waterproof breathable membranes keep your feet oblivious to slush while allowing perspiration to escape. Keen lined the Winthrops with smooth, itchless boiled wool for warmth and natural odor resistance. Removable EVA footbeds provide cushioning and support during long winter walks, and grippy rubber outsoles let you cruise across icy parking lots with confidence.
Bottom Line: Unshoveled sidewalks are the Winthrop’s red carpet.
I bought these boots last winter. I relocated for work to Korea in January.. It was the coldest winter in 10 years. Most days it was below zero. I don't know about you.. That's cold for this Panamanian, Southern California girl..LOL.. My feet were comfortable, nice and toasty everytime I wore these boots. Which was on a daily basis. I would suggest these boots to anyone needing a nice fitting, stylish boot. I am planning on getting a black pair.
I haven't had a chance to wear these boots in the elements yet but can tell they will be great for the Pacific Northwest winters. Cute with a skirt or jeans. My only gripe is I have a hard time zipping them all the way up. I have muscular calves so maybe that's why but I'm hoping they will strech a bit. I did get a half size larger to accomodate smartwools, glad I did that.
The Winthrop Boot is about 12 inches high from the ground and is about 14 inches around at the top. I say about because it would depend on the size of the boot you order.

I am really pleased with the comfort and quality of Keen shoes/boots. I have not worn this pair for an extended period of time yet but based on past Keen purchases I won't be disappointed. These boots seem to fit true to size, they are wide enough and do not pinch or rub. They are easy on/off and I think my favorite feature is the rubber toe bumper/protector as I am very hard on shoes/boots especially the toes. If you are looking for a long lasting pair of shoes/boots you can't go wrong with an investment in Keen quality and comfort.
Love the boots. Exactly what I am looking for but I should have listened to the othe reviewers who said to order this boot a half size larger than your normal shoe size.
I love these boots because you can really wear them in the snow and wet and not ruin anything. They are warm and stylish. I got a half size larger and that works with warmer socks. Love them!
These boots have made my winter pleasant again! My family could not beleive how many times I said how comfortable AND warm my feet were! Couldn't recommend them high enough...Love them!
Which of these Womens winter boots have the wider toe bed? I have put 6 on the list for my sister who is wide in the toe area size 8. Thanks. My email addr is: arlene.regos@yahoo.com
Arlene, My right foot is much wider than my left as a result of 20 years of jumping off my UPS truck with my right foot leading. I just went to the store to try the Keen Winthrop on, because of this, before I ordered....no issues. Wiggle room, but not too much, for extra sock layers. (No, I am not getting these for work.) I'd get the Winthrop's.
After doing some research, I decided to by these boots and I'm so glad I did. I love them! Super warm even with thin socks; good traction; and they keep my feet dry in the rainy Pacific NW. Yes, like other reviewers said, they're a bit stiff at first but that went away within a day of wearing them. They also seemed a little tight around the calf but that softened in a day as well. I wear a 7.5 to 8 in other shoes, so went with the 8 because of what others said. Right choice. These are my first Keens and I am a convert. If I could, I would wear them all the time.
These boots are GREAT!! The lining is warm but not hot, they are sturdy and really CUTE!! I couldn't like these boots any more - I highly recommend them!
I loved these boots before the 6 inches of rain the east coast has gotten over the past 3 days. During these fun monsoon days my feet have been just about the only part of me that has stayed dry. I have worn them every time I have trudged out. I have stepped in 6 inch puddles and come home with completely dry feet. I even put them on when the outside was still damp, and found the inside still dry the next time I took them off. To top it off, they are super comfortable and versatile. I can wear them pretty much anywhere I go. I even wore them on an unexpected 3 mile city walk and was completely fine. Only slight drawback, when I first got them, if I wasn't careful with zipping they did some weird digging thing into my ankle, but that has subsided. Some winter boots either make my feat cold when I am outside, or make my feet sweat when i go inside. The only issue I had with feet sweat is when I wore a pair of PhD Smartwool socks under them on a 65 degree day. All in all, definitely worth the price.
This is my 9th pair of Keens, I wanted these last winter but waited until they went on sale this winter, got a great price with free delivery and recieved them in 7 days. I am thrilled with them. There is a bit of wiggle room in the ankle but great for tucking in my jeans. I haven't worn them in the rain or slush so I don't know how they fair there. All in all, very comfortable outside and inside all day.
Bought these as a daily winter wear that could go from house to work to shopping - out and about in ice and snow.
They fit the job pretty well although they certainly aren't all that warm. This is not an extended outdoor activity boot. The lining, although wool is not that thick so I wouldn't count on them for walks in the woods or an all day outdoor adventure. To hedge your bets buy them large enough for some heavy duty sock! Enjoy.
So excited to find my favorite keen style in a boot! Love the rubber toe and thick sole. Wonderful arch support and all around protective feel to the foot. These boots are perfect for that English Countryside style. Unfortunately, while I love that look, I am a bit more urban in my style, and I really want a boot that fits in the ankle & calf. That is where these boots don't work for me. The ankle is much too wide, more like a slip on or galosh. That is the main reason I returned them. Still searching for just the right boot. oh well....
I bought some Keen boots for my grandson and we both loved them so decided to buy myself some. I love them! I live in Iowa and the winters can be brutal. We've had tons of snow this year and these are great for snow, ice and slush. Like the fact that they have a zipper for easy on and off and the traction is great....even on the ice. Fit is true to size. I thought they were a bit stiff when I first put them on but they have softened up. If you want to wear them in sub-zero temps, I would suggest wearing some warm socks. I wore my cashmere socks and my feet stayed pretty warm.
These are my winter shoes! I live in Flagstaff, AZ and wear them to go out, to snow shoe, to shovel snow, walk the dog through snow/ice packed trails, and my feet stay warm! They have pretty good grip and look as good as the day I bought them. I have no doubts about this purchase. I bought a half size larger just to be on the safe side and they fit great! I can wear thin or thick socks, but usually opt for knee high smartwool ski socks=)
What I do in these boots: feed the horses, shovel the steep, long driveway, hike to the cabin at Alta, perform on the violin in a skirt, do errands all day in town... They are warm, comfortable, have good traction and I keep getting compliments on them to boot. They are true to Keen sizing and the zipper makes them easy on/off. I can wear my jeans tucked in or out. What gal doesn't love a boot that is extremely functional AND fashionable! Goodbye Sorrels.
I love these boots!! They're warm for wintery weather and they keep your feet dry. I live in Santa Fe NM and we get quite a bit of snow but these boots have worked very well.I've worn them everyday since I've got them. My only complaint is that these shoes run wide, I have to wear a thick wool sock with them.
These have been fabulous boots. I have worn them with short denim skirts and tights and with narrow jeans tucked in. I have pretty muscular calves and they have been fine, not tight like some other reviewers on other sites mentioned. There is a little space around the ankle, but I like it because it allows my ankles to flex. It also gives a little space for my jeans when they are tucked in. I have worn these in heavy rain and slushy snow here in Alaska and they have kept my feet warm and dry. I wear an 8 and occasionally have to do an 8 1/2 in Keen, but the 8s were perfect in this style. My feet have widened a bit since I had kids, so they were great for me even with a heavyish sock, but those with narrow feet might find them a bit wide. I have had many compliments on this style from many people.
These look like great boots so I ordered them for an impending snowstorm. I choose free shipping because the other shipping options seemed expensive. After I placed the order and received the tracking information I was informed these would ship through UPS Basic - which I had never heard of. It then showed that it would take between 7 and 15 days to receive the order. It snowed over two feet (unusual for Philadelphia)and I still don't have my boots! We have more snow in the forecast so I ordered the boots from another site. They were $20 less on the other site and their free shipping is UPS Ground. Anyway, I'm
