Nice ... but a little to hot for me!

They are really nice sandals; however, I found them to be just too hot for me. I tried them several times before sending back. Really, really wanted them to work as I loved the look, but for the kind of money invested I really needed to be able to use the sandals more. Thanks for the no hassle return!
Pretty great and pretty useful!

I bought these shoes to wade in streams as well as a summer hiking boot to let my toes breathe in the summer. As water shoes, they're ok, but I had hoped the material would be a bit more breathable. I find that after I am done in the water, it takes forever for the material to dry leaving my feet a bit swampy and prune-y for the rest of the day until I take my feet out of them and let me feet air dry. After I air dry my feet, they're ok.
As for summer hiking boots, they're great! The straps are really helpful if you are running around or if you are just walking. Tightening the straps also really helps with stability while wading through rocks in a stream.
As for the size, my feet are only slightly on the wider side. I purchased the normal 6.5 that I usually buy with other shoes and they fit well. It felt a little loose at first, but adjusting the straps really helps with that!
Like but I want to Love

I really want to LOVE these shoes but I did have to return my first pair after a one-week hike in/around Lake Michigan and Lake Superior trails.
The sole of the shoe and the foot bed separated due to a poor glue product. I'm on my second pair after a painless exchange at backcountry.com, but I have yet to wear the new pair. Fingers crossed that they hold up better.
In action, they felt great, they helped me grip some pretty slippery rocks and were otherwise fabulous. I apologize KEEN, but I can't give these a higher rating.
Get the size you wear, not .5 size up

I followed the keen website's advice to get a .5 size up, that they run small. But i found that they were just a half size to big. If you want the ball of your foot and the heel in the right place buy your size. They are fairly wide, and stretch a bit. My size (6) not 6.5 fits very comfortably. Had to return the first pair, but back country was great and very quick (even the free shipping) Love my shoes, wear them every day. Only problem, my feel seem to smell a bit, something about sandals make my feet smell. But, I can waer the shoes through the day, no feet problems.

I am simply in love with Keen technical sandals. I have a pair of the Venice h2 model (http://www.backcountry.com/keen-venice-h2-sandal-womens) and I decided to try this model in a different color. Definitely Keen rules! They provide a great looking along with great protection. Super comfy and fresh. True to size for me!

I have bunions on both feet & was wondering about the straps rubbing & irritating those. Does anyone have this issue?

My wife's rub a little. It's not overly bad for her feet, but it would probably be worse for someone with bunions.

The straps on these come over higher on the foot where most bunions are so it covers it and doesn't cut into it. Guess every foot is different, but these work great for me. I'm ordering my second pair.
Two Thumbs Up!

This is my 3rd pair of Keen shoes. They by far are my favorite brand, they hold up well, give great support and protection.
I have received many compliments on the Venice Sandals. I have traveled quite a lot this summer and everywhere I went ladies were asking me about my shoes.
There is no break in time needed, take them out of the box and put them on and go! I find all Keens to be true to size, I wear a 7, and a 7 is what I get!
Fantastic KEEN Venice Sandal

Keen sandals are perfect, super comfortable and they look very nice, specially these ones that are made with leather so they can be used as casual sandals as well. I ordered them in size 8.5 which is usually the size I wear in Keen and they fit perfectly. I totally recommend these.

This is my second pair because these sandals are the best! Love the comfort, support and quality that Keen sandals provide. I can wear these all day and still have "happy" feet by the evening.

Just finished a two week vacation with lots of walking and this was the perfect shoe. My feet felt just as good at the end of the day as they did at the beginning.

Why does backcountry not carry Keen in Women's 10 1/2? I know they make them?

they may order them for you if you contact backcountry directly, but when items are on sale, sizes are limited to what they have in stock. if the new year's model is coming out and that's why these are on sale, the new ones wont be on sale, and they probably wont order the the old ones for you...such is the world of sales...happy hunting.

I love the H2 look-I'm afraid to order on line cause they may be too narroow. I have a wider width than B. Is there a better fit for better fit for me, even if it's a boy's shoe?
Diane

Actually my foot is wide also, and I have found that Keen is one of the better shoes for wider feet, especially women. But hey, Backcountry has the best return policy ever.
Finally!

After returning these in a size 9 (little tight) last year, I finally reordered a 9 1/2 and these fit perfectly. I love the color combination! Comfortable and durable! That's Keen for ya!
KEEN Venice Sandal is a Savier for a River Guide
Erika German

I wear these EVERY day of the summer as an expedition guide! Whether I'm on the river, in a cave, or out hiking these save my feet all the time. I watch all the other guides wear Chacos and their toes come out bleeding every day. I love the toe protection on these and the fact that I can have my feet in the water and when I bring them out I don't have to deal with shoes that stay soaking wet. Who wants pruned feet or foot rot when you've been hiking through a cave all day?
The only thing I can possibly say I don't like is that they are kinda heavy when I am trying to swim and don't really help me out if I'm trying to swim a rapid to get to a customer in distress.
Anybody try these in the sand?? How do...

Anybody try these in the sand?? How do these shoes compare to other KEEN shoes as far as sand getting stuck in them or not?
Josh Chapman
Member since
Hey Shannon,
You will definitely have an issue with the sand getting stuck in any open sandal really. However, the closed toe and raised heel will make it better than most for that.
Best shoe I've ever owned

These are by far the best shoes I have ever owned. The last pair I owned lasted 5 years of daily wear before they wore out, and I loved them so much I bought a second pair.
THE BEST!!!!!

This is my first pair of these and I can't wait to buy another! I've pretty much wore them nonstop since I received them. They are exremely comfy- absolutely no blisters or rubbing.I wore them everyday on a seven day trip hiking through the redwoods, trekking on the beach, camping and sightseeing without a single issue. Do usually wear an 8 1/2 but a 9 fits perfect! Black olive/surf spray a great color and is true to the pic. My advice...get some!
The Best!

This color (Black Olive/Surf Sray) of Keen's is great for traveling. I wore them everyday in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. This is my second pair of these sandals. The first pair lasted years, literally, of everyday use and heavy traveling and a few machine washings.
