- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I wore these shoes trekking all over Africa for a year and half and they were awesome! I also wear them quite often at work (as a river guide). They got a roomy toe box and are super comfortable with or without socks. They are also really sticky on boats and rock, so they're great on the water and on side hikes.

My daughter has very wide feet...are these wide...also, do they run
true to size
Hello Kathleen, thanks for the question!
Keens do typically have a wider footbed than many other brands. Keen also has a pretty handy fit tip available on their website. They list this model as fitting 1/2 size smaller than your typical street shoe, so size up!
KEEN Venice H2 Sandal - Women's
Love these shoes!
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I get compliments every time I wear these. I have the Petrol/Twighlight and people just love the color. The shoe size is right on and extremely comfy. I'm thinking of getting another pair...
What is the difference between the Newport...
What is the difference between the Newport H2 and the Venice H2? Is there a difference in size and weight or is the just the extra strap? With the price difference I would expect one to be different then the other, but I cannot tell without seeing them in person. I am looking for something to go use to go hiking in the summer and to be able to get wet and not worry about getting them dirty. Are these easy to clean?
This article may be of some help to you.
The Newport runs a little smaller than the Venice, so if your a 8 go to a 8.5 in the Newport.
The Newport also has less volume across the instep of the foot, so if you have a high instep(high arch) I would recommend the Venice.
Both are good for hiking, but the Newport has more support due to the thicker rubber in the sole, this also makes the Newport heavier.
Best Sandals Ever!
They take me to the river, and so much more!
Not so great
The shoes were too wide, and when I tried to tighten them up, the toe then curled up and the shoes were then too short.
Favorite Shoes Ever!!
Love love love these sandals! They dont give me blisters and are easy to put on. I wear them daily in the summer, very comfortable to walk and hike in. Get them wet, and they dry quickly. Love them in our many Moab trips - they grip slickrock really well. The saddest thing is putting them away for winter! I have another pair of Keen shoes that I wear in the winter, and they are just as comfortable. Keens have definitely given my Birkenstocks a run for their money!
Best sandals ever
Just love them! Great fit and soooo comfortable.
I'm going to be traveling Southeast...
I'm going to be traveling Southeast Asia, Maylasia, and Indonesia. I plan on doing some intermediate level hiking and will definitely be in and around water. Also how does this styel compare to the Newport H2 in terms of running? I'd like to forgo a running shoe in my pack, but for a jog of maybe 4 miles how would either of these sandals hold up?
The Newport has more stability than the Venice. neither one is designed for running. If your running four miles a day for a extended time I would recommend a running shoe.
Both are durable for light hiking and water.
Best Technical Sandal EVER!
I am absolutely in love with my new Keens. The fit is perfect, I haven't suffered any blisters, and the arch support is just right. Very comfortable, and super gripper souls even when wet! I read reviews stating that the sandals ran a half size small, but I think they run perfectly true to size. I even have a tad bit of extra toe room.
Is the sizes in men or women sizes?

I would recommend but...
I'd love to write a review but it appears the shoe IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY SIZE! Botheration!
Just didn't fit right
The shoe was really nice, but I just couldn't get it to fit right. One size was too loose the next smaller was too tight. I was really disappointed that I couldn't manage to have one or the other fit. I have to say though that the return policy is great and I was pleased with the service... just wish the shoe fit.
I have six pair of them. The Venice is the best sandal Keen offers, it's more open then the Newport. Love the colors too.
Light and comfortable
I have had keens sandals for years. These are the same comfortable fitting shoes I am used to but I do feel that are not quite as well made as previous purchases.
I love these shoes. I live in Europe and travel often. They are very comfortable to walk for long periods of time. I feel like they also help my feet breath in the summer time. The material of the shoe is very nice. I would highly recommend these shoes for comfort and style.
Not Comfortable for Sensitive Feet
I tried on a pair of Venice H2 sandals in a shoe store, and liked them, but they didn't have the color I wanted. So I was excited to find them on Backcountry.com, and for $20 less than the shoe store. I already knew I needed a half size larger than my usual, because I had tried on the identical shoes. What I didn't realize, though, was that trying them on with socks on in the store was different from wearing them barefoot at home. There is a seam that runs the length of inside of the top of the shoe, and it left a painful indentation in the top of my foot. To be fair, I am very sensitive to seems (I wear all of my socks inside out) so this may not be a problem for those with tougher feet. But for me, the bottom line is that I'm glad Backcountry.com had a good return policy, because these shoes definitely need to go back.
i've never been a sandal person, but when i needed water shoes for a camping trip, my boyfriend suggested these.
I LOVE THEM.
they are super comfortable, dry fast, and didn't cause any blisters or sore spots on my feet.
i wear an 8.5 shoe, but got a 9 in these.
they run a bit snug.
My parents got me pair for my birthday. I absolutely love them ! They are so comfy and when i got them soaked they were dry within minutes. These are my favorite pair of shoes I've ever had ! I look forward to trying other keen shoes!
