The KEEN Women's Venice H2s have all the advantages of your favorite flip flops without any of the drawbacks.

The fast-drying, bacteria-free KEEN Women's Venice H2 Sandals are ideal for extended trips on the river or easy hiking where your feet are sure to get soaked. Not only do these closed-toe sandals offer protection that regular sandals can't match, but they also provide easy access and a quick, secure fit with a drawcord lace design. You'll appreciate the extra protection of the Venice H2 sandals when you're jamming your foot under a thwart on a rafting trip, or when the trail turned out to be a little more rugged than you expected. Whatever the case, the polyester uppers on these KEEN sandals are sure to be bone dry by the time you're back in the car.

great sandals

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

We got these for hiking in Hawaii. Perfect shoe for in and out of the water and all terrain. Nice toe protection and still look new after a a few days of use.

Fits my narrow foot

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This is my second pair. If you want people commenting on your shoes wherever you go, get these shoes. Young, old, men, women, they all comment on these shoes. Plus, I wear a double or triple A shoe, and have a high arch. I just pull the cords up a lot, and it works fine for me. I don't wear these hiking, just as summer sandals everywhere. Sizing is not consistent, however. My first pair is a seven, my new pair an eight. Next year I'll go for a 7.5!!! I hope Keen will reintroduce the cute pattern I have on my first pair, with multi-colored stripes.

Very happy!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I just love these shoes. First season with them. I bought them for ocean, river and lake kayaking. I wear them instead of my sneaks hiking and walking my pups, too. Perfect fit for me. I'm claustrophobic so I like the wide openings, but closed toe for trekking through the water and over rock. Comfy, easy on and off - great item!

Used to love them.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs large

I have two pair of the Venice style. I love the way they look and I enjoyed both pair for quite awhile but I don't understand Keen's reputation as outdoor shoes. They're pretty great around the office and they do okay as a kayaking shoe but I can't imagine hiking any distance in them.

The tightening system just doesn't work well for me. I'll suck them down as tight as I can but I still get rocks and such going between my foot and the footbed - doesn't make for a good outdoor experience.

Also, after a couple of years of office/kayak use, I must have walked all of the support out of both of my pair. To keep them on my feet I have to suck them up so tight that they start hurting the top of my feet.

I'm normally a size 6, I've tried 5.5 and 6 keens (and a pair of size 3 kids' keens, don't do that, so smelly) and they fit well for awhile but wear out quickly.

*shrug* At one point I dug them enough to get a second pair. I can't say they're a bad shoe but the price has gone way up and the comfort doesn't seem to last beyond 1-1.5 summers.

I recently picked up a pair of Teva Tirras and I really like those. I've done quite a bit of hiking in them and I don't get any debris between my foot and the footbed. They look more feminine and attractive than the Keens too. I can see my toenails again which is the perfect excuse to get a pedicure after tearing up my feet backpacking.

Great sandal for everyday

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I have had problems with my ankle and Achilles heel tendon for a very long time. I've been diagnosed with tendinosis, which is a chronic form of tendinitis and finding comfortable sandals is next to impossible!! Keen comes through for me every time I need a sandal that I can walk in without a lot of pain!! Great sandal! I would recommend these to anyone!

I am very pleased

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

It is true to size, and very comfortable, though sometimes it feels like the shoe "pulls" in one direction. Not sure how to describe it, but I only notice it right when I put them on. I have a Keen Whisper sandals that I prefer the fit of to these, but I would recommend them. I love the color (green), also! I would buy additional pair if the color were what I was looking for.

Pebble Collector

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a similar pair of Keen sandals. Though they are very comfortable, when hiking in sand and/or through rivers, sand and pebbles collect in the toe area (and under toes) and interfere with the fit - and comfort!

They run extra small!

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small

I LOVe these shoes but they run small. I wear a size 10, which is the largest size Keen makes for this women's sandal and it's much too small. I'd say it runs a full size small. I loved them so much I was tempted to keep them anyway but decided to return them because I knew I'd end up crippled with black toes. Sadness. Keen--please hear me and adjust your sizing or make larger sizes so we can all enjoy your shoes.

Great shoe!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I wore these shoes trekking all over Africa for a year and half and they were awesome! I also wear them quite often at work (as a river guide). They got a roomy toe box and are super comfortable with or without socks. They are also really sticky on boats and rock, so they're great on the water and on side hikes.

Hello Kathleen, thanks for the question!

Keens do typically have a wider footbed than many other brands. Keen also has a pretty handy fit tip available on their website. They list this model as fitting 1/2 size smaller than your typical street shoe, so size up!

Hi Kathleen,

I have a wide foot and high instep. I have owned three pairs of the Venice H2. I do buy a half size larger than I usually wear in wide sneakers. I would not go with the whisper style as they have a tighter fit.

Love these shoes!

  • Gender:Female
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I get compliments every time I wear these. I have the Petrol/Twighlight and people just love the color. The shoe size is right on and extremely comfy. I'm thinking of getting another pair...

What is the difference between the Newport...

What is the difference between the Newport H2 and the Venice H2? Is there a difference in size and weight or is the just the extra strap? With the price difference I would expect one to be different then the other, but I cannot tell without seeing them in person. I am looking for something to go use to go hiking in the summer and to be able to get wet and not worry about getting them dirty. Are these easy to clean?

This article may be of some help to you.

The Newport runs a little smaller than the Venice, so if your a 8 go to a 8.5 in the Newport.
The Newport also has less volume across the instep of the foot, so if you have a high instep(high arch) I would recommend the Venice.
Both are good for hiking, but the Newport has more support due to the thicker rubber in the sole, this also makes the Newport heavier.

Not so great

The shoes were too wide, and when I tried to tighten them up, the toe then curled up and the shoes were then too short.

    Favorite Shoes Ever!!

Love love love these sandals! They dont give me blisters and are easy to put on. I wear them daily in the summer, very comfortable to walk and hike in. Get them wet, and they dry quickly. Love them in our many Moab trips - they grip slickrock really well. The saddest thing is putting them away for winter! I have another pair of Keen shoes that I wear in the winter, and they are just as comfortable. Keens have definitely given my Birkenstocks a run for their money!

Hi, I'm going to be traveling Southeast...

I'm going to be traveling Southeast Asia, Maylasia, and Indonesia. I plan on doing some intermediate level hiking and will definitely be in and around water. Also how does this styel compare to the Newport H2 in terms of running? I'd like to forgo a running shoe in my pack, but for a jog of maybe 4 miles how would either of these sandals hold up?

      Thank you!

The Newport has more stability than the Venice. neither one is designed for running. If your running four miles a day for a extended time I would recommend a running shoe.
Both are durable for light hiking and water.

      Best Technical Sandal EVER!

I am absolutely in love with my new Keens. The fit is perfect, I haven't suffered any blisters, and the arch support is just right. Very comfortable, and super gripper souls even when wet! I read reviews stating that the sandals ran a half size small, but I think they run perfectly true to size. I even have a tad bit of extra toe room.
