Warm snug boots perfect for Europe...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

I bought these boots as something stylish to wear with jeans whilst trekking around Europe last year. They were perfect!

With stockings or jeans I wore them everywhere, including walking around London for eight hours on solid concrete the whole way. A bit tight at first but after a few days they fit perfectly!

Great boot

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Absolutely love these boots! They fit snug, so if you're on the fence about sizes, I'd recommend going with the larger one. They did take a little bit of breaking in, but they get more and more comfortable the more you wear them.

I've also been testing them in deep puddles and snow, and I haven't noticed any leaking. No regrets.

Love Keen's

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

After selling and wearing Keen's for over 10 yrs, they are still my favorite brand. Great support, comfort and style. Bought my normal size, they were a bit snug but only took wearing them for 15 mins and the inside lining settled around my foot perfectly. So happy I made this purchase and found a new source for my Keen addition!

Plenty of calf room

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just tried these boots on and I think there is extra room in the calf. The foot bed is comfortable and they appear to be very well made. If the calf was smaller I'd buy them, seems like a GREAT deal at $68

Not as I'd hoped

I have been looking at these boots for a while and I was so excited when I found them on sale. When I got the boots the zipper was very hard to zip and the material felt very stiff. I've never had a problem with my calves being too big but these boots wouldn't zip all the way up. I ended up returning the boots because there were just too many negatives.

I had the exact same problem with the zipper, but with a bit of spray from "Glide" and few days of wearing them, the leather became soft as butter and the zipper functioned beautifully. Have had the zipper problem with other Keen shoes/boots and "Glide" always rectifies it quickly.

    Um... Awesome

I'm so confused by the negative reviews. I consider myself a shoe snob, and I love these! They are super high quality and very comfortable (That being said, I do have slender ankles and calves). As far as being dorky, well, they look like Keens, which I happen to like. I think they're very versatile as far as what you can wear with them. Just ordered another pair!

      Not so great

Parts of soles of the boots would jag to my feet making them very uncomfortable. There is not a lot room for the ankle to move nicely. Not sure if these boots are waterproof or not because I bought these during to summer, and returned them before the winter.

Sadly I am returning these boots. They aren't as feminine as I hoped (bottom looks like a dorky rubber snow boot) and there is virtually no ankle support (although the heel is cupped nicely). I liked the idea of being able to hike in these and wear them in town...but they aren't practical for hiking because of the lack of ankle support (leather is fairly thin), and they aren't cute enough to wear around town (my personal opinion) all in all, not worth the $170.

**oh and the little triangle is not yellow as shown in the picture, it's black to match the rubber**

I will say though, that backcountry rocks & I had my boots in hand in less than two days, and thanks to their return policy I can send these back for full refund, no questions asked.

I have Keen gumboots in size 8 - would these boots fit the same? Also, what is the circumference around the calf before stretching?
