The KEEN Women's Shellrock WP Trail Running Shoes use softshell uppers and waterproof breathable eVENT inserts to protect against all moisture without making your feet feel clammy. Thanks to a totally stitchless design, the Shellrock WP Trail Running Shoes' upper leaves no space for a single drop of moisture to get inside. KEEN's clean, lightweight design keeps you fast on your feet, and their dual-density outsoles ensure solid traction every step of the way.
Bottom Line: Take advantage of softshell technology in your footwear by hitting the trail in the KEEN Shellrock WP Trail Running Shoes.
I've been wearing my new Keens for a little over a month now. They are doing everything I wanted them to do. They have good arch support, are actually waterproof, and quite comfortable.
Tongue-Yes, the seam in the tongue did cause a few issues. It doesn't feel lumpy but the seam between the waterproof fabric and the regular fabric on the tongue does press against the top of your foot the first couple of times. Having been warned, I tied them a little loose the first couple of times and only wore them for shorter periods of time before testing them all day. I didn't have any problems with the tongue after about a week and a half.
Waterproof-Yes, the shoes are waterproof. I tested that out last week when I rode my bike home in the rain. My feet were staying completely dry until I rode through a puddle deeper than I thought. I splashed water up and got my socks all wet. The water from my socks eventually wicked down to make my feet wet but it wasn't do to the shoes. Guess I need waterproof socks now...
This is my second pair of Keen Shellrocks and my third pair of Keen work-out shoes. I loved my first pair of Keen work-out shoes and my first pair of the Shellrocks, which I wore until the soles wore out and the sides split. However, this second pair has a hard piece in the tongue of the left shoe which is very uncomfortable and which has left a bruise on the top of my foot. Ouch. I prefer some of the other Keen shoes over this particular style.
Check with the online chat help people. I supinate (have high arches), and they recommended KEEN shoes for me. So I don't think they would be right for you if you want a lot of arch support. But check with the chat help. They are awesome!

These sneaks are fantastic - lightweight, comfy, plenty of support and cushion. The only thing to note, as others have, is that the tongue design could be better. Definitely wear them around a little bit before you need to go hiking. The tongue folds tend to hurt a little bit on the top of your feet. Otherwise awesome shoe!
This is would have made my 5th style of Keens, and I really wanted to love them, but they just didn't fit like the others. I ordered my regular size, which was fine for length, but the toe box just doesn't have enough room. I, too, found that the hard piece next to the tongue was very painful if you tried to tighten them at all. I love the rest of my Keens and was disappointed to have to send these back. Look elsewhere for a comfy workout shoe!
Hey,I live in a very wet place. I've been trying to compare the Shellrock WP Day Hiking shoes with teh Wasatch Crest WP Trail Run shoes. How do they compare as far as WPness? Or support? Ease of use? Anyone have experience with both?
When I got these, I was thrilled with how light they were and their fit -- wonderful. I wore them around the house for about half an hour to test them, and before long I felt a horribly uncomfortable feeling on the tops of my feet. If I had worn them any longer it would have turned to real pain. It was the extra fabric attaching the tongue to the shoe, which creates a fold when the shoe is laced. I'm looking forward to the day Keen redesigns this part of the shoe; I'll happily buy it then, because otherwise I thought it felt perfect and I'm very disappointed to have to send it back.
The Keen Shellrocks are a great pair of shoes. I had them on my Christmas gift list and my Mom picked up a pair here for me. I love them! The fact that they're waterproof is nice, and they hug my foot well. I tend to need a bit wider shoe since my foot is between a medium and wide width. These fit me great, and I went with a size a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. They seem to run just a tad small.
