The KEEN Newport Pack gives you the versatility you need to go from office to trailhead with ease. Pairing a computer pocket with a hydration sleeve and adding multiple organizer pockets, KEEN built this pack to ensure you’re always prepared for what the day might bring.

  • Recycled rubber bottom increases durability
  • Adjustable mesh and foam shoulder straps and back panel increase comfort and allow air to circulate
  • Hydration bladder pocket with hose outlet keeps your water close at hand
  • Interior mesh pockets help you organize your gear
  • Lightly padded computer pocket accommodates up to 15-inch laptop
  • Top side zippered pocked with fleece liner protects your sunglasses or MP3
  • Exterior bungee strap compression system stores your jacket or extra layer

Bottom Line: Bring the office to the mountain top, or leave it in your dust.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

The Keen website saids that the backpack has side water bottle

The Keen website saids that the backpack has side water bottle pockets but I don't see any in the pictures - is this true?

Le Bad Design

So... I'm a big fan of KEEN products, but this pack is seriously lacking in function. The oversize H2-esque outer cage is awkward-looking and awkward-functioning. Yes, you can stash stuff back there, but if your pack is less than completely-full, it just kind of flops around.

Secondly, the top zippered pocket is not functional at all unless the pack is completely stuffed to the gills as the pocket empties its contents with every zip.

The only cool thing about this pack is the back panel and straps. The thing fits really, really well and is super-comfy to wear. However, hauling your gear is more of a chore than its worth with this pack.

Great suspension design and comfort, but overall, Le Bad Design.

This looks pretty cool, but that curved zipper at the top worries

This looks pretty cool, but that curved zipper at the top worries me. I'm going to wait and see if anyone has issues with it.

It looks like it does in the picture. If you think that's ugly, then yes.
