My husband and I are taking my almost 13 y.o. niece white water rafting this summer. I want to get her some water shoes to wear that she can also wear to camp. She wears a womens size 6 - 6.5. Can anybody tell me what Keen "youth" size she would wear? I tried the youth 6 in the whisper and it was too big for ME (wms 7-7.5)!!! So now I'm not sure where to go.

The youth size is in Mens sizes, so typically you go down one size for a women's size.
So a youth 6 is a women's 7.
I would recommend the Newport H2 in youth size 5 for greater protection for your niece.

I wear a women's 8 to 8.5 and I can wear a Keen youth 6 with no problems. So the men's size theory doesn't necessarily hold true.

I bought these for my daughter and they are just what we were looking for to play in all summer. She wears a 6.5 so we went with the 7 and they fit great with a little room to grow. They are comfortable, durable and cute and she likes wearing them. Plus they can get wet and are washable. Perfect.

A five star shoe for functionality, wearability these are pretty darn cute on my 7-year-old son -- but man are these some stinky shoes! Maybe it's the footbed? They smell like a sour used-diaper left out in the sun.
Sweet Sandals!

I love the way these look and feel! They are super comfortable and stay on my feet very well! They are not the best to play in water with tiny rock moving around because they will get between your foot and sandals and are hard to get out, but if you are looking for protection and durability, these are perfect!
Perfect in all ways

My son is 5yrs old and wears a kid's 13, do you know how that translates to Keen sizes? I see the sizes range from 1-6, are those the youth sizes or the kid's sizes? I know that my son would eventually move from a 13 kid's to a 1 youth, but I'm just not sure how these sizes run...any help you could offer would be a big help, Thanks!
Awsome!

Got this now (Jan, '11) when they're on sale, for the upcoming summer. These are great shoes. My kids have had them before. I love the toe and heel protection on this style. My kids wear them all summer long, walking on land and in water. In the spring and fall, they wear them to school with socks (closed toes, so they're OK.) After all that, the shoes would still be good for another season. Too bad my kids feet grow!

My little guy wears a 3 wide where i can find them. Do these lean towards wide or narrow? I might still try them as long as they aren't even SORT of narrow. I need them for a WDW waterpark day & will not have time to exchange before we leave.
Perfect outdoor shoe

My kids LOVE Keens. They wear like iron and go seamlessly from camping, the lake and the pool to well, dare I say that my son even wears them to church on occasion! I typically buy 1/2 size up and then they can wear them for a bit longer, plus I think Keens run a tad small. My kids like the fact that the H2 sandal has a covered heel as opposed to a heel strap. We like how the polyester webbing holds its color and integrity. Have never tried a leather version in adults or kids.

These shoes are wonderful! They are sturdy and my usually picky daughter ants to wear them. She loved the aqua color. They were a bit expensive but worth the price when you consider she wears them all day every day and certainly will into the fall. Perfect for summer camp - goes from creek to pool. I am looking to get a pair for myself.
Great shoe-worth the price

These sandals are great for active kids-no stubbed toes, no flip flops falling off- and I the kids think they are very comfortable. I have noticed the odor but since they are washable, I don't consider it a major drawback.
The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that my five-year-old can't get them on and off easily. My seven-year-old has no problem.

First of all I love these shoes!! I have plantar fasciatus and this is really the only onther shoe I can wear all day long, besides my brooks with orthodics!!!!!!!! This are seriously very comfortable and I have small feet so I can wear the kids sizes!!! They are also machine washable which is amazing!!
Great company too!!!
Thanks :)!!!!
Great sandals... a little stinky

We've always had Keens. Always loved Keens. The Newport H2 is this kid's third sandal style. They are easy to get on (yay) and easy to remove. Super great in the washing machine. My complaint is that they are in the wash OFTEN. Why? Because they smell. My son turned 7 a few months into this shoe and has never had stinky feet. Not in any other Keen, not in any other shoe. But these are horse barn stinky! After one wear. I make my kid wash his feet promptly upon removing these shoes. I am embarrassed to allow them to go to school. I leave them on the front porch. Give them a try, they are great in nearly every way. But beware the added bonus - peeuuuw!!

Kids is the smallest sizes like 11, 12 and 13. Youth starts at size 1 and goes up to 7
