Whether hiking in a dusty canyon or on a lush tropical island, the Keen Mystic Women's Sandals give you support, toe protection, and comfort. These hiking sandals feature Keen's patented toe bumpers so no piggies get stubbed and adjustable ergonomic straps for a snug fit. EVA midsoles absorb shock as you hike, and multidirectional lugs with siping on your outsoles give you grip on wet, rocky, and uneven surfaces. Washable waterproof leather uppers love wading in rivers and ocean waves. Plus, your feet get to be half-naked in the sun when you wear these sandals.
Bottom Line: Who needs hiking boots on a hot day when you can wear Keen's Mystics?
I've worn a pair of newports for years, until the tread is nearly gone. I purchased a pair of mystics to replace them. They felt fine in the store and the fit is OK. Two differences, the heel strap on the mystic is attached so is more likely to rub than the heel strap of the newport. The clasp is small and annoying. I'm afraid that with cold wet hands, it will be a nuisance to operate. The strap does not stay tight. I'm quite disapointed as this is a shoe that I planned to spend miles hiking in. Has anyone found a tightner solution?
My first pair of Keens, and they are just as cute, comfy, and orthotic-friendly as I'd hoped. But their persistent, strong fake-vanilla chemical smell is making me nauseous, and I'd like to know what EXACTLY they put in them, and why, to make them smell like that. Is the smell deliberate? Or is it one of those awful new anti-bacterial agents? I for one strongly object to fragrances (which are generally neurotoxins) being added to my shoes. A chemically sensitive person could become downright ill from wearing them. I hope Keen will consider walking its talk; this cool groovy health-oriented company needs to get rid of the stinky fragrance.

Got this sandal specifically for a trip to Jamaica, and wore them every day. Wore them while climbing a waterfall, hiking, and in the ocean. They protected my feet from sharp rocks and kept me from slipping. In the ocean, they protected me from sharp coral, shells, and dangerous sea urchins. They did not dry out quite as quickly as I would have liked, but were not uncomfortable to wear while wet. If you get rocks in your sandals, it is a little hard to get them out, but the other benefits of the shoe make up for it. They have good arch support, prevent foot fatigue, and don't weigh a ton. These shoes are the best for adventures! Highly recommend them!
And they are oh so comfy, only a few hours of break-in-time necessary and they are good to go. No one buys these to be the height of fashion, but for this type of shoe they cute enough--though bulky. Agreed as mention by other reviews that the clasps are a bit small and flush with the straps--making them a tad hard to close sometimes.
It would be difficult to wear orthotics in this shoe, but the arch support and sole strength are good enough you really shouldn't need them. I almost always use arch supports in my shoes, and the Keen Mystic kept my feet comfy and cozy. I didn't have any problems at all!
I like them. They are a bit wide, but fit me best with socks on. My foot is very narrow. Only thing is the tightener thing on the sides will not stay tight. Kind of driving me crazy to keep reaching down to pull the thing tight.
I bought these shoes for a 2 week adventure in Hawaii. I was worried about getting them wet in the ocean but they dried quickly and looked fine. These shoes felt like they were made for me right out of the box! They do run 1/2 a size bigger so go a size smaller. I recommend this shoe to anyone.
This is my first pair of Keens, and they are great! I noticed some people complained about the, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary of new shoes. Also in the sizing, I am between a 7 and 7.5. I ordered a 7, and they are perfect! So far it doesn't seem like they will require a whole lot of breaking in. The main reason why I choose the Keen's over Chacos. As well, the style is much nicer looking that most Keens.
I am looking at these or the Venice H2. I have been reluctant to buy or wear any sport sandal but like the styling of both of these and now I can't decide. Anybody have both? What are the distinguishing features?
I have both of the sandals listed. the big difference is the cinch cord system. The mystic only has a buckle so if you're going somewhere muddy, you can't cinch it as much as the H2. That's really about it other than styling details.
Comfortable. I like them. Glad I did not pay full price (as bought them on sale in December) because they are quite big - at least a half if not a full size too big for me even though I converted my UK size. And I was not able to return them. Also another weak point is that although I pull them nice and snug when I first put them on the strap soon works loose and my feet move about in them. I stepped in a muddy puddle in the dark the 2nd time I wore them but threw them in the machine and they washed great. If I bought again then I would have to go for a small size.
These sandals are perfect replacement for the strapped Keen that appears to be obsolete now. They are a little beefier but just as comfortable and still open feeling. I love them
I absolutely love these sandals, I am totally hooked on Keens. I've seen others complain about the clasp, but I have no problems with it whatsoever. I don't think its too small. Its perfect in my opinion. Very very comfortable sandal. Would highly recommend!
They are not very heavy, in my opinion they have the perfect weight for you to walk and to not feel like you are not wearing anything. If you are 39 European, you would need a 8.5, that is my size actually. Hope this helps!!
Ordered the shoes last minute for a trip to Costa Rica. I love the style and comfort. The shoes worked out well, but they do run large, so I slop around more than I would have hoped. Try them on at a retailer before ordering or order two pair (close sizes) and send back the one that doesn't fit for an extra $6.
Love these sandals. Comfy from the first wear, with good support and no downside. I'm on my feet all day and do a reasonable amount of walking and these sandals feel just as good at the end of the day as at the start. Terrific.
I row Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA in an 8 person sweep boat 3 times a week and these were a perfect addition to my closet. I have warn them around town too and they are comfortable for hours (not to mention cute).
Been a Keen fan for ages. They are the only shoes that fit my feet perfectly. I love them!!!! Anyway, I have a pair of the leather Newports and boy, did they stink after an hour of wearing them. I guess Keen got a lot of complaints about this, so they decided to add something new. Antibacterial soles, plus they infused them with a vanilla scent. Yes, VANILLA scented shoes. I bought these and opened the box and they smell so good. No more stinky feet!!!!
The first time I wore these shoes, it was at work. I work at an elementary school and do plenty of walking all day. Not a problem. Would highly recommend these, and they are may second pair of Keene's. Will bring them on our trip to Spain in 1 week.
I was first of all amazed at the delivery status of my keens, it only took 2 days before they were at my doorstep!! I ordered size 9, and they fit perfectly, are amazingly comfortable, and also fashionable. I have problems finding the right outdoor shoe for me because I worked in restaurants for part of my life, and my feet can be a pain to deal with when finding shoes. I have gone on several hikes, played in the water with my dog in the woods, and also lOVE wearing them casually as well. I would highly recommend these shoes for any keen lover as a new shoe for your outdoorsey experience, or just for somebody that wants very comfortable shoes!!!
THESE SHOES ARE VERY CUTE, BUT NOT GREAT FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN LIGHT HIKING OR WALKING. THE STRAP BECAME LOOSE WHILE HIKING AND I COULDN'T SEEM TO KEEP THEM TIGHT ENOUGH ON MY FOOT.
I got these sandals because my husband loves his keen's so much! i wore them almost everyday on our two week adventure to China. My feet stayed cool and had lots of arch support! The traction was great to have when you never know what the weather is going to be! Thanks so much keen!
These sandals are great once one finds the right shoe size. Good support, nice and cool in hot & humid DC summer, good toe protection. Love the ribbon embellishments in the design. I normally take a US8/EU40, so I ordered the size 8, but when they arrived they were WAY TOO small. I checked the size chart at another to-be-nameless shoe site where they listed both the US and EU sizes and found I needed to order a whole size larger. The US9 in this sandal is listed as a EU39.5. So, if you order, go by your EU size, not the US size.
I have 8 pair of Keen's and these are probably the most comfortable yet. Great support, no breaking in and they are even comfortable if I am too lazy to do them up. I may even have to wear socks with these sandals as the weather gets cooler.
This is my first pair of Keen shoes. I bought them for a trip to Ecuador I'll be taking in a few weeks. I thought I'd need to break them in, and have been wearing them for the last week or so. They're extremely comfortable and haven't produced any sores or blisters, so no real break-in period has been necessary. I've walked about ten miles (generally in 1-2 mile chunks) in them so far, and worn them for about 25 miles on my bike. I agree with the previous reviewer that the buckle clasp is teeny-tiny and a little hard to work, but I'm getting the hang of it. Great shoes, I'm looking forward to doing a little light hiking in them in Ecuador.
This is actually my first pair of Keen's, but my partner has been wearing (and swearing by) them for years! These are perfect for me. More than a sandal, but less than a full shoe. Cooler, lighter and really comfortable. The only reason for not giving five stars is the buckle clasp. It's a little too small and a bit hard to work at times, but a small issue overall!
These sandals are just great, they fit perfectly, I ordered them in size 8.5 and it was like if they were made just for me. They are really comfortable and they look really good too. The quality of the sandals are pretty good too. I love them!
