Has anybody had a problem of the material...
Has anybody had a problem of the material breaking down where you insert your foot? Bought these back in December, love them, but I have a hard time getting them on.
My favorite Keens
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I pretty much live in keens due to my knees & back. These are as awesome as any Keens I've had, and I've been wearing these for maybe a year already.
- comfy (and I'm on my feet all day)
- same size as I always wear in Keens (presidio, toyah, targhee 2, etc.)
- nice flat sole
PLUS they're the cutest Keens I own! I have 2 pairs and want 2 more.
My only reservation is they may be a little cool for our bay area "winter", but my feet get cold easily
Nice Shoe, wrong size
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I read a review that these ran small and took a chance on the 8.5..... way toooooo big!. I have an average foot, size 8, but I wonder if a 7.5 wouldn't have been better. So Sad I had to send them back.
Not so hot
These shoes are very cute, but the longer I wear them, the less I like them. :( I have a bunion on my left foot, and these shoes aggravate it. There is something about the insole and how it hits the arch of my foot that is very uncomfortable, and painful after an hour or two of wearing them. The right foot and shoe are fine though.
Sad, as I have other models of Keens that are fine.
Feels like a clog?
This shoe fit, but it felt like a clog (with a back to it), even with my Smartwool socks on. Was it supposed to fit like that? Was it sized incorrectly? I didn't care for the fit, so back it goes.
THANK YOU KEENS
I have always been a Keen fan. I am very active but have been plagued with sore feet. Mostly a pain between the balls of my feet and my toes (wish I knew what this was, anyone?) The Keen sandles were wonderful when we went to Europe. Wore them everyday for 3 weeks and my feet were tired but NEVER sore. When I saw the Kaci I decided to try them. They are very comfortable and I wear them all the time. The only problem I have encountered, is I have a high instep and I can fill it in my arch's at the end of the day. Not enought to deter me. Love these shoes!
I would like to order this in the color...
I would like to order this in the color Potting Soil for my daughter in law, and she wears an 11. I don't see 11 as an option for this model. Is it possible to get the Kaci Slip on in a size 11?

I wasn't so sure about these when I pulled them out of the box -- that signature Keen look with the big toe bumper and extra-wide forefoot still just looks kind of odd to me. But I guess that is what my foot has been craving, because once I put them on -- amazing. They are so ridiculously comfortable, I've been wearing them non-stop since. If you're someone that spends all day on her feet, you'd have to be crazy not to get these. The other reviewer is right, they're a little tight at the top of the foot (I have a high arch), but they do seem to be loosening up, so I'll be able to wear slightly heavier socks with them soon. I switch back and forth between an 8.5 and a 9, depending on the brand, and the 8.5 fit just right.
I just bought these for for my daughter! They run a little small, she usually wears a 6.5-7 size and we were told by the on-line chat help to go to a size 7.5. They are a perfect fit! A little tight on the top of foot, but stretch out with wear. They are much cuter in real life, than they appear in the photo. She says they are very comfy! We love KEEN shoes! Backcountry has been so good in helping out and with returning any item that hasn't fit! Thanks!
THIS SHOE IS BEAUTIFUL. I been looking for a good walking, stomping, all weather-like shoe, that was stock sturdy and good on the feet plus I have planter facittis and tendonitis in same foot so the shoe had to be able to help stabalize all of that plus the custom orthotics I have. I walk/run/hop, 5-10 miles a day at full jack rabbit speed as a traveling on foot specialty teacher of the deaf each day between 13 schools, at least 4-8 of those every day in NYC. Rain sleet snow. Stairs, sidewalks, construction, gravel, holes, concrete,mud... you name it I am in it daily. Needless to say I get excercise and my shoes must be able to as well. I have worn these shoes for the past week and am totally in LOVE with them. At the moment I am wearing them with the orthotics nestled right on top of the insert it comes with, with a slightly thin/thick smartwool. When winter blasts I will pull out the keen inserts and wear the orthotics with heavy smartwools. I ordered a half-size up. I'm a 9 and ordered a 9 1/2 to make room for the orthotics and socks. PERFECT fit. I got them in black. The contrast stitching is gray so subtle instead of white as one sees on some websites. Very 'girl' and god with the easy teacher look but very rugged as if a hiking shoe underneath. I am hoping BackCountry will seventually sell these in the Madder Brown color because I want to order another pair. And if you find them a bit snug to first slip foot into get a shoe-horn. That is what ya use to put shoes on so as not to ruin the outer edge and it will naturally soften new leather without damaging it. They are beautiful and perfect. I want to sleep in them :)
