Pull on the KEEN Men’s Growler Winter Boot When the winter weather gets downright nasty. KEEN made this winter-slaying boot with its KEEN.DRY waterproof system to keep deep snow from seeping in on the way to work, and the KEEN.WARM insulation ensures your dogs stay toasty while you shovel out the driveway or take your little one sledding at the local hill.

  • KEEN.DRY waterproof system lets vapor out without letting water in
  • KEEN.WARM insulation uses charcoal bamboo to cut down weight and prevent foot-funk without sacrificing warmth
  • Dual Climate rubber outsole hardens in cold weather to bite into snow and ice
  • Thermal heat shield footbed prevents the cold from seeping in underfoot
  • KEEN’s Patented Toe Protection wraps the outsole over your toes for ultimate protection
  • KEEN notes that this boot runs about a ½ size small

Bottom Line: Pour yourself a tall glass of winter comfort.

i like the rubber toe...

i like the insulation and the rubber toe, but in the past i've owned a couple of pairs of keen's that have had some problems with the longevity of the soles. la sportiva is highly recommended or anything with a vibram or skywalk sole. owned a pair of the black comb keen's and there were some construction issues where 2 different materials would meet, the canvas tore is several places...had to use shoe glue.

I am looking for a boot that can accept snowshoes and crampons

I am looking for a boot that can accept snowshoes and crampons to do some "light" mountaineering. Is this the one or is there a better option? Price is of course a factor, but comfort, weight, warmth are the key factors for me.

These boots would probably accept snowshoes; however, it does not appear that they have the raised lip on the heel that is generally built into snowshoe-compatible boots to prevent the snowshoe's heel strap from sliding down the back of your foot. As for crampons, you can use strap-style crampons on these shoes (and any shoes, for that matter) no problem. But "light" mountaineering? I wouldn't, though I don't know your definition of mountaineering. With a good pair of gaiters, you could probably do some good hiking or winter backpacking in these, assuming the temps don't drop too far below freezing. Note: These are not technical boots at all. Mountaineering boots half a half or full length shank that gives the boot a certin stiffness that allows for proper and efficient crampon use. These are insulated light hiking shoes/boots.

I live in Wisconsin and wear theae babies every day. I have also used these in the summer for extended (up to 5 day) backpacking trips in the summer with no sweat and plenty of support!

Got these boots for snow shoeing only, but they are so comfortable and warm that I wear them whenever its cold. They don't make my feet sweat either, which i've had a problem with in other boots.

Thought I might try a men's boot for a better fit over the women's Keen equivalent. Fit well but just a bit clunky for a woman's foot, I felt. Not really the fault of the boot. :)

Why even review a men's boot and give it 3 stars if you are a woman?
