Been looking forward to your weekend hike? Us too. Slip on the Keen Women’s Genoa Peak Mid WP Hiking Boot for excellent support, traction, and cushioning. The Genoa Peak Mid WP boot’s higher cuff holds your ankles steady and its S3 support structure absorbs and dissipates shock, making life a little easier for your heels, arches, and legs. An ESS shank offers superb torsional stability, making each step a little smoother and more secure. A waterproof breathable KEEN.DRY membrane defends your tootsies from rainstorms, streams, and lurking puddles. The women-specific fit spares you the discomfort of bulky, awkward unisex shoe design.

Great Shoe!

By:
January 7, 2009

Well, I just got these shoes...literally, UPS just dropped them of about 15 minutes ago, but I already love them. They are very cozy and comfortable. They are not rigid like other boots, instead they feel pre-broken in for you, which is really nice. This is a little weird, but I hate when my feet are hot, so I like breathable shoes. These seem to be just that. I've been wearing them around and so far so good. Now all they've gotta do is last me a month in Thailand, so if anything changes...I'll let ya know.

These boots are AWESOME!

By:

FIRST TIME out in them, 15 mile long hike, I brought along my old boots in my backpack, figured I'd have to change into them after a few miles. Well, 15 miles, a couple stream crossings, lots of mud later,, my feet were still COMFY, DRY and NO BLISTERS! Amazing! I bought my normal size, fit like a dream!

I wear a 8.5 in the lower cut Keen Genoa Peak WP shoes. Does this translate to the same size for these mid hiking boots or should I follow the typical logic of getting a size 9? (I usually wear a size 9 in Keens, but for some reason, 8.5 works for the lower cut Genoa Peaks, go figure -- they fit true to size for me.)

Happy Hiker

I purchased these boots to wear on a
Southwest Photography Tour because I knew there would be lots of rock climbing, walking in sand, and doing stairs at sites. I also knew the days would be long - from sunrise to sunset. This boot was absolutely fantastic in both comfort and durability!! It is more comfortable than slippers. I wear a size 7, but after reading other reviews of this boot in which it was suggested to go a half size larger,I went with a 7 1/2 and it was a perfect fit with a medium weight SmartWool sock. If you are looking for a fabulous hiking boot, this is the one!!

If I wear an 8.5 in regular shoes and a 9.5 in running shoes what size should I order?

Don't order a size 8! It's true Keens run a 1/2 size small, that means you need to go up a 1/2 size from what you normally wear. If you wear an 8.5 you would size up to a 9.

Keen's website says the shoes run 1/2 size small. So you probably would do well in an 8.

First Time Boot Buyer- 2 Thumbs Up

By:
December 23, 2009

I got a new job working outside and needed some "work boots" to keep my feet dry and warm. I'm typically a heels girl so I was nervous about this whole experience. After reading the reviews I went with these boots and I am THRILLED. They are more comfortable than any sneakers I've ever owned. The tops of the boots rubbing around my ankles took some getting used to, otherwise they are amazing. Go with the advice here and get a half size up from your usual shoe size and they should be perfect. Worked in pouring rain and heavy snow (Blizzard of '09 anyone?) 16-20+ hours a day and my feet were dry the whole time and never hurt once!
Also had to get back country to overnight the shoes to me after MY mistake and they were super helpful and even paid the overnight fee! I'm so pleased now looking to buy my boyfriend a pair or the men's.

I do not know an exact weight, but they are not that heavy at all. When I wear them for a few hours or all day I never feel like I am lugging weights around my feet or ankles.

Probably the best shoes I've ever owned

By:
December 16, 2009

I wanted hiking shoes that felt more like athletic shoes, had more ankle support without rubbing and these seem to be the ones. I ordered a half size larger as others had suggested and they fit perfectly. The removable insert could have a little more arch support (or else I would give them 5 stars)but you could replace it if you like. No need to break these in! Can't wait to try them out!

I found that these boots run a little small. I purchased my normal size and they hurt my feet just wearing them around the house. When I exchanged for 1/2 size bigger they were perfect and incredibly comfortable!

Excellent Shoes

By:
March 16, 2009

My husband and I are currently stationed in Germany and we enjoy traveling through out winter to the Bavarian Alps. I tested these out the first day I got them on icy pavement, Slushy Snow and 4 inches deep of snow. My feet stayed warm, they provided a solid grip on the icy pavement, and even stayed dried in the snow. They also provide excellent comfort, but make sure you order 1/2 size larger than your normal size.

Nancy,Sometimes it is confusing when only certain colors or styles are on sale. If you click the drop down menu to select your size you will notice Madder Brown/Blue Indigo is on sale for $87.96, while Shitake / Orange Orche is full price at $119.95. As long as you aren't particular about what color boots you have, you could save a few dollars.Mahalo, Sumo

Great Boots!!!

By:
July 7, 2009

I bought these boots to hike with my Boy Scouts - they were a little stiff around the ankles the first day around my house, but they broke in quickly and no longer hurt after the first few hours I wore them. They kept my feet dry and comfortable all day long. I would suggest buying a 1/2 size bigger, though. They run a little small.

Waterproof and Lightweight

By:
February 2, 2009

Officially put these to the waterproof and warmth tests today: walking through melting snow piles and drifts. Didn't think the snow was going to be as deep as it was, so I left the snowshoes in the car. Not one bit of melting snow penetrated through the boots, which meant my toes (which normally get cold) stayed warm and dry. There is plenty of ankle support in these, even though they are listed as a "mid". I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size (which I've done before with Keens) and they fit perfectly with slightly thicker socks on. I broke them in at work for the past week (on my feet 8 hours a day) without too much trouble. Thinner socks leave a little more room in the toebox, but that is good for long hikes when your feet are going to swell a little. Unlike other Keen boots I've tried, these are pretty light weight -- I will actually be able to use these backpacking without wishing I was wearing other shoes.

My Gal Likey

By:
January 7, 2009

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. It was love at first step! We took them out for a test run on a local 5 mile trail and she couldn't believe how comfy the were. Went out on another trail with lots of stream crossings and her feet stayed dry. SHE LOVES ME.

Disappointed me.

By:
October 9, 2009

I'm used to loving Keens, having them fit my feet like a glove right out of the box. So I had no qualms ordering these without trying them on. Unfortunately, they are completely uncomfortable on my feet! The generous Keen toe-box is not in evidence; instead, my feet (specifically, above the balls) feel like they're being squeezed to death every time I put these on. I've tried to break them in by hiking about 15 miles over the last two weeks, and my toes still go numb every time I wear them. I'm sad. (P.S. - I ordered them a half-size up, and today I tried on the Targhee II in the same size - they felt lovely, just like a Keen is supposed to).
