Description

Any everyday winter slip-on that works on the worst days.

If you don't get the newspaper now, it'll be covered in six inches of snow by lunch, so slip on the KEEN Brixen Lo Boot and trek across your snowy yard. Despite its slip-on design, you can call the Brixen Lo a boot because it features a KEEN.DRY waterproof breathable membrane, KEEN.Warm insulation, and a KEEN Dual Climate Rubber outsole for every day winter performance.
  • The 200g KEEN.Warm insulation uses charcoal from bamboo for a sustainable, antimicrobial source of heat retention
  • Tough waterproof nubuck leather and KEEN.DRY membrane keeps melting snow and parking lot puddles out while you take care of business
  • KEEN Dual Climate Rubber outsole hardens when the temperatures dive so you can get a solid grip on snow and ice
  • The wool felt lining and thermal heat shield footbed contain your foot's heat and provide smooth comfort all day
  • A compression-molded EVA midsole cushions your steps and the TPU shank and shellback heel support don't buckle in sketchy terrain

I've been wearing Keen sandals since 2004 for hiking and biking. I was looking for a low top winter shoe and these made the most sense. That is to say, they are incredibly practical and sensible. They fit very well and they're easy to put on. With slipons, if they fit right, they're hard to get on - or - they're easy to get on but they don't fit right. The Brixen Lo Boot is the best of both worlds. It goes on easily, and doesn't slide around on your foot.

Best of all, the wool felt lining is very warm. Wool is a great material for winter footwear lining, because it stays warm even when it's wet.

The sole does well on ice and slick surfaces, and Keen's characteristic big toe guard is perfect.

I really like this shoe. I would definitely buy these again.

Love the styling and looks. Very good traction in the snow and toasty warm. Fits fantastic.

Currently wearing these shoes, They are pretty warm and honestly don't breathe real well but typical for Keen, they are very well made and very comfortable. Tough and very durable along with waterproof, these are nice shoes. I've spent several evenings shoveling the driveway in these and never got cold or wet feet.

What's the difference between these and the older keen whistlers. Whistlers are currently one of my favorite shoes. Have had them for 3 season. They are not great in weather less than 30 degrees...don't have a lot of nsultation...but wool socks make them go down to the single digits. How are these compared to the whistlers

Erik,

The difference is that the Brixen Low has 200 grams of insulation, it will go down to at least 0.

Great shoe, very warm. Sized accurate.Have the perfect amount of insulation; not too much to wear inside, but enough to keep your feet warm outside.

QUALITY: Great, Made in China
STYLE: Slip-on Low Boot, Waterproof Nubuck Leather Shell with a Wool-Felt Lining and 200g of insulation
FIT: Relaxed -Wears Loose to Size
FEATURES: Thermal Heat Shield Footbed, Over-Toe Rubber Shell and all Terrain Sole
VALUE: Good *Moderately Priced Boot
OVERALL: The Low-Boot is Durable and Comfortable, it can be used in all weather conditions. The Slip-on design provides top of the foot coverage and the Elastic panels allow for quick Entry and Exit. The Relaxed Fit allows for Thicker Socks and the Boot has good weight which gives it added traction; However, the Low Profile of the Boot will be a problem in High and Heavy Snow Drifts. *I would Recommend these Boots to a Friend.
