Next weekend wear the Keen Men's Blackcomb Winter Boot, when you escape the city and head to the woods for some camping. You won't mind that the temps are getting chilly with the Blackcomb's Primoloft insulation. In fact it's the perfect temp to build a fire, and with the Blackcomb's rubber toe guard, your toes won't get smashed when you head into the brush for some wood. When the fire is ready cuddle with your loved one; the nylon lining will pull sweat away if they get warm to keep your feet dry. The next morning when you wake up, slip on these boots and head out on the dewy grass with steady footing, as the Blackcomb's soles offer optimal traction on wet and dry surfaces.
Bottom Line: The Keen Men's Blackcomb is one boot for a whole weekend—isn't simplicity great?
Eyelets broke on boths dies of both shoes. Dual density rubber seperated. All after 2 months. Fixed eyelets but could not fix sole. Had to return. Does run a half size small. Would have been agreat shoe. Comfortable, warm, great grip. Poor quality. I will try keen one more time.
these boots are pretty rad. primaloft 200 insulation, -20 degrees proof. keep your feet warm and toasty. only beef i have is longevity of the soles. and also by the top of the toe on both sides of the feet where the canvas meets the leather they tear. put some shoe glue and they worked fine, but...could be higher quality and better construction.

These are by far one of the nicest pairs of boots I have owned. I'm new to the Keen brand and I have to say I'm more than happy with my purchase. Now granted, I have yet to put these through any type of legitimate test phase, mainly due to the fact that I am only using these for "casual" situations. Overall, I feel pretty safe in saiying that both Keen and Backcountry.com have a customer for life!
I'm looking for a pair of winter boots to wear while at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in February. I'd like a lightweight boot that blends comfort with warmth as I trek around the city, watch ski events and sit indoors watching hockey. I'd also want them to serve as an all-purpose winter boot for back home in Pittsburgh (suitable for temps 0-30F, for the most part). Would these be a good choice or is there a better option?
These probably fit your needs very well. They have 200g of insulation for warmth during extended periods in cold weather, and will do a better job of wicking sweat thanks to a breathable textile lining. They are also waterproof and have excellent grip on ice and snow. Have fun up in BC.
These boots were an impulse buy as I was tired of my cold feet. I ordered the same size I wear in other Keen models and found these to be a little tighter. In a store, I would have tried a half size bigger but I think that might have been too big. They have great traction and are very warm. Very satisfied but they are Keen, I knew I would be.
Extraordinarily comfortable. The boots stick to rocks like the feet of a gecko climbing a wall. Got 1/2 size larger than my Keen sandals, fit perfectly.
These boots aren't actually Temp. rated. A friend of mine has them and we did some winter camping and these are the boots he wore. It got down to -5ºf and he started to get a little cold but not too bad.
Great Boots for the money - I needed a pair when I moved to Montana 2 weeks ago and they arrived just in time for the 20 below zero weather we had. They also work well as snowshoe boots. The men's wider fit works better for me in the winter months - only need one pair of merino wool socks.
I got this boot for my brother to walk around grimy Manhattan during rains (and still look fashionable) and he loves them. He loves them so much he wears them even when the weather is great. He says they're light and comfy and also make him a bit taller which means this is one pair of boots worth the money.
I have been wearing Keen's for about 3 yrs now, and they can run a little wide. I have a normal, width foot, and I have been wearing the Targhee's. The way that they are design, you can pull them up real tight on the sides, making the width of the boot thinner. My Keen's have always started off a little wide, but after a couple weeks of wearing them, they conform to my foot.
I bought these boots for Chicago winters and being out in the snow. I was trying to decide between this and the Sorel Timberwolf, but after reading reviews about poor durability of new Sorel boots I took my chances with these. The fit is more like a shoe than other boots that I tried on, which is great for every day wear. I have worn these almost every day since the day I received them. They are light and easy to walk in. This boot isn't very tall, but keeps the snow out very well. I had them out in over a foot of snow and my feet were perfectly warm and bone dry. At first I only wore them with midweight wool hiking socks, now I just wear normal socks and they are just as warm.
The lacing system is good. It requires no effort to tighten them up at the top, because the boot cinches as you clip the lace through the top hook. However, it can be difficult to unlace the boot from the plastic hook at the top without using a lot of force. This can be cumbersome while standing leaned over, as the angle doesn't work very well. I also worry about the durability of the hook as it is plastic and I have to pull so hard to remove the lace. Also, it is virtually impossible to keep the laces from untying without double-knotting them. The laces are a little too short for double-knotting and tend to stick up and out from the boot. If it wasn't for these issues, I would have given the boot five stars.
These boots fit me about a half size smaller than regular shoes, so I had to go with an 11.5 rather than my normal 11. This is my time buying Keen footwear, and I am very satisfied with the product and company as a whole.
I had to order over the phone on 12/26 from Backcountry, which was super easy. Using free shipping, the boots arrived on 1/4, which I thought was very fast when considering the holidays.
This is my first pair of Keen boots, the construction is first notch. The fit is very good as it is true to size and so far appears to give very good overall support. They could be a little wider at the toes for me to allow more movement when standing still to keep the toes warmer longer, miner concern though. My only problem has been the right boot when tightly laced the top inside eyelet is not covered by the tongue properly and it bites into the top of my ankle and is uncomfortable. I covered it with a small adhesive pad and it seems to have solved the problem. Still waring the boots and happy with their warmth and traction on slick surfaces plus the soles do not seem to collect dirt or mud easily.
Hi, I"d like to know if the boots are true to size? Gym shoes size I wear a 10.5 US. Does the boot fit like the Keen scandals? Or do I have to geta size smaller?Thank you.
These boots Rock!!! I've worn these boots through the recent Minnesota snow storms and cold snap. The fit is great but you need to order a 1/2 size larger for the perfect fit. You'll stay warm, dry and comfortable throughout the winter.
Purchased to use while snow blowing. Came in very handy during Omaha's recent snow and blizzard. Kept feet dry and warm...felt no cold. Great traction. I ordered a half size larger than normal and it fit great.
I like KEEN's, wear the sandals all summer, bought these for winter since my Dr. Martens are just not warm enough. They are comfy & light and def warm for the snow... obviously they're not good in deep snow since they're only ankle high. But overall, they look & feel good, I wear them everyday when it's cold and they're great.
Warm, fit to size though they do feel a little tight when you first put them op but they "pack out" once warm. Good boot for short hikes and back and forth to work on winter days.
Quite simply the most comfortable, effective mid-cold / winter boots I have ever owned. Not for the blizzards and sub-zero days - but for everything else here in MN. They fit like a glove (like my Keen sandles). Not completely waterproof but good enough. Breathable, etc.etc. I love them!
I only wear Keens, they always fit right and are comfortable. It is just getting cold here in midstate New York but they are plenty warm on cool days so I know they will be great in the snow (tonight).
My favorite shoes are the Keen Targhee II. The Blackcomb boots are just like Targhee II's but in a winter version. A joy to wear and the mid height is just right for the snow. Warmth is more than adequate for winter conditions
