Sizing was a little small

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used another style of Keen Casual shoe in a size 12 and it was almost a little too big. So I ordered the Bidwell in a size 12 thinking it would be the same. However, it is a little on the small size. Other than that, it's a great shoe.

Ruggedly Casual

I purchased these shoes because I needed a casual shoe to wear while adventuring in Afghanistan. Due to the rugged nature of the Afghan environment, I wanted a shoe that I could wear out and about in either business casual or casual attire. The Bidwell is working out well. It fits well and it's reinforced sole and toe provide the extra durability I was looking for. The only minus I would give it is in comfort. I stand for long periods of time and I keep wishing it had a bit more cushion to it. It makes a good "around town" shoe, if that town happens to be Kabul.

I have another pair of these shoes, just a bit different, that I purchased from Backcountry. These new ones fit perfectly and I wore them for 12 hours on the first day on a concrete floor, standing and walking for the whole 12 hours. Other than my 45 minute break of course. They were very comfortable for the whole day, with one place feeling a bit of wear but not enough for a blister. I have had much worse problems with other shoes and boots breaking them in and these shoes were great. I now have 2 pairs and no problems walking and standing on the concrete. Thanks Backcountry.
