Some winter boots are warm and cozy, but the actual underfoot support (or lack thereof) makes it feel like you're balancing on a water bed. KEEN uses its S3 system to boost support on your winter snowshoe or trek downtown.

  • S3 (shock, suspension, stability) uses a heel structure to absorb shock and provide lateral support
  • Waterproof breathable membrane blocks wetness and lets excess hot air out
  • Lightweight insulation with carbonized bamboo warms your foot and naturally deals with odor
  • Wooly lining for coziness

Bottom Line: Boosts support, blocks the wet.

warm but too big

By:

I'm not a fan of "functional" winter shoes...they all just look so clunky. But, after a few snowshoe trips borrowing such shoes I decided it was time to pony up. I like the look of the Betty, and they were warm when I wore them around the house. But, when they say to order a full size down, they're right. I normally wear a 9.5 but ordered the shoe in a size 9. As I walked, they slipped off my heel. I'm returning them in exchange for the 8.5 in hopes the short heel back will fit comfortably.

I usually wear a size 7 in Keen shoes so I ordered a size 6 as i was following the suggestion to go 1 size smaller.Bad move as it turns out to be too small.I would go 1/2 size smaller next time. I returned it cause it didn't fit me right and also because it doesn't look as good as the picture. A bit dissapointed as I love Keen

So, I tried ordering a size smaller. I usually wear a 9.5 but the 9 slipped off my heel. I tried the 8.5, and they were much too small...and still managed to slip on my heel. too bad, I was really looking forward to some nice winter shoes.

Great Shoe

The shoe does run a little big, but I absolutely love them. They are great for slipping on to go outside during the cold weather. I have received lots of compliments on them and have told people where they can purchase them.

I am confused. The size chart says Keen's run small and to order a 1/2 size up. I typically wear a 7, but in the Keen sandals I always wear a 7 1/2. So if I order the Betty shoe the reviews are saying they run big. Do I order my normal size of 7 or go down to a 6 1/2? Any suggestions? Thx

Got these for my betty for the holidaze. Ordered 9.5, but they were too big. Exchanged them for 9.0 and they've become her favorite shoe.

Worst Keens I own

By:
January 19, 2010

These are the worst Keens...Too Wide... no arch support and no heel grip. I feel like I am walking out of them, so not good to work in. They do grip the snow pretty good, but out of all my Keens.. these are a huge waste of 76 dollars. They are a big disappointment. Guess they will be my "Slipper boots" for the deck.

Good winter shoe

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I got these shoes as an alternative to always having to put on boots during the winter time. So far (3 snowstorms into winter), they have been awesome! They keep my feet toasty warm and aren't clunky like boots might be. The sole is nice and grippy, no worries about slipping on ice! I highly recommend these if you are looking for some good wear around winter shoes.
