The Womens Betty Boot uses both KEEN.WARM insulation and fleece lining to keep your feet nice and warm when youre out and about this winter. KEENs Dual Climate Carbon sole gives you serious traction on the iciest of sidewalks, so you stay upright when the going gets slick. The Betty Boots even include waterproof breathable KEEN.DRY membranes to ensure not a drop of moisture gets through when you have to plod through the slush.
These are SO COMFY. The lining is so soft and furry. They are really easy to put on/off which makes them perfect for walking back and forth to the slopes. I'm really surprised at all of the reviews saying to order a size up. I have a ridiculous number of Keen shoes of all sorts, and I'm a solid 8.5. I feel I could have probably gone with an 8 in these... they are a bit roomy, but not sloppy. They are wider in the toe so they can look a bit clunky with certain types of pants. However, they really are super cute and incredibly cozy to wear. The tread is solid. Paired with the right sock, I can't see your feet ever getting cold in these.
All I wanted was an all black pair of boots that were warm, comfortable and stylish. After what seemed like a hopeless search to have all three of those qualities, I found the Betty Boot! They feel great with the cushioned sole and soft lining, are easy to put on with the zip side and they look great too! An added bonus is that they are waterproof! I ordered a half size up as suggested and they fit perfectly with a mid-weight sock. My toes are toasty warm but not sweaty! :)This is my first pair of Keen footwear and they truly live up to the reputation I've heard so much about!
Kent: I've been told I have "fred feet" meaning they are a little wider (but still cute feet). I stil have enough room in my betty boots to pedal my flinstone-mobile. :)

I really like these boots. They're very comfortable, waterproof and look good. I bought the red ones.
HOWEVER: These boots are definitely NOT made for active, cold weather pursuits and walking in snow in sub zero temps around -10F to -30F. Note I said IN snow, not on it. My feet were freezing!
They simply do not insulate well enough. Don't know where I heard they were good to -40F because that's definitely not the case.
They're good for city-walking, on a snowy sidewalk or even gravel road, but they are definitely not meant for trudging through snow banks all day long.
I thought these boots would be rugged, but they're not. They're cute.
I bought these for my wife in nile/iguana color and she says they are extremely comfortable and warm. the sole gives a solid platform with nice traction. They give her enough room to tuck her pants in when she wears them with jeans, and snow pants go over the top when on the mountain. They are really cute and make her look even sexier!
I love Keen. The wide toe bed, the fun styling, the functionality balanced with good design and color options...I'm a big fan. These boots are wonderful - like many slip-on boots, they slide in the heel, but I don't mind that when I'm shlepping around and I wear them with thick winter socks to keep the slipping to a minimum (and I did try a size smaller, but my toes jammed into the front of the boot). I wouldn't wear these winter hiking though because of the slip-on roomy fit, however they're great cold weather townie shoes. Due to the Keen (get it? KEEN?! HAHAHAHA...sigh) attention to stitching and colors (hey, active women's clothing and shoe designers - there are some really great combinations of colors out there, follow Keen's lead, please), I get a lot of compliments on these boots from both men and women.
I just received the Betty Boots in a size 9 and they were too snug with socks. They were great without any socks but that would not work in the cold weather of Armenia where I'm going with the Peace Corps. The boots were comfortable, light-weight and good looking indoors as I tried them on; I was sorry to have to return them, however, I'll be needing boots in snow and ice for at least 6 months per year so am reordering a larger size of the same ones. Customer service is great at Back Country, BTW.
I tried on the wintersport 2 and needed a size larger than my Keen sandals.....do the Betty Boot fit the same way??? Trying to find black, love keens...
Wore these boots for 10 days in Northern Norway through ice and snow and these boots were perfect. They were comfortable, did not feel heavy, and kept my feet dry and warm. I did order half size up to accommodate heavy socks, which worked for me. I would definitely recommend them. I also want to make a note of the great customer service I received from Backcountry. They really came through with a return due to a problem and got the replacement boots to me in time for my trip. This is not the first time Backcountry has demonstrated exemplary customer service, which is why I always shop here for my outdoor/travel gear.
Keeping my feet and ankles warm in the snow! Soft and comfy. Don't need to zip or unzip to get in and get out. So I do wish that it was a little less wide above my ankle. My foot stays in great while I walk. However, if I don't have a pant that goes over the boot, snow gets in to the back of my ankle. On the other hand, the boot was so warm, I didn't notice snow was back there until I looked ;-) The size 11, my regular shoe & Keen size, fits just fine. My toes are at the top, but are comfortably up there. The tread makes for great slick snow walking.
I bought these for my wife and LOVES them. She was having problems with some other boots because they were pinching her skin. Now these are very warm water proof.. A must have! She works up at the BIRD! She has a pair of lined CROCS, and she won't use those any more.. said she is more comfy and warm in these. She did say they give a funky smell, other than that no probs!
Really liked these at first.Still like them but the fit on the heel is loose, so your heel slips up while walking making it a bit difficult to run around in the snow. So I'm more iffy about them now. Still... they are really warm and waterproof.
I am very pleased with this boot for this year's Chicago winter. I walk up to 1.5 miles away at a time through the snow and ice around here, and these boots have helped keep my steady and safe. I love the deep traction, the style of the boots, and the warmth they provide. These were true to size for me. If you have a bigger calf, they are still comfortable and can fit the back of your pants if you need to tuck them in.
Got the brown/mint. sooooo cute and comfy - especially for a hefty duty winter snow boot. Lightweight too : ) As with all Keens, order 1/2 size up from your normal or if between two sizes, go to the larger of the two. This is a big winner!
I have very high standards for our Alaskan winters. Boots are a daily staple for me. I chose these because they are super cute and water proof! I went to REI to try these on first because everyone had issues w/the fit. REI's model only had one finger loop in the back and I noticed the scrunchy sock issue right away, which totally bummed me out! Mann, I kept looking and just had to ordered them anyway. Backcountry has the double finger loop which I totally wanted AND these have not had any scrunchy heal issue and I have small heels. I would check your summer Keens and go with the same size as those. I'm normally a 7-7.5, but my summer keens are 8, so that's what I ordered... PERFECT! They go on nice, insides are cozy, perfect weight for wearing everyday and playing in the snow. Will post more if anything changes. Thanks Backcountry!!
I have NEVER had a warmer, more useful boot. I've used them in Chicago, Boston, Maine, Wisconsin and -40deg in the Canadian Rockies and they have never let me down. On the Canada trip, I had a friend with freezing feet from her bad boots switch with me for a bit and she couldn't believe how warm they were compared to hers. Also totally waterproof--I bought true to size and they were fine--cute, too! Just love em!
My old boots died after 9 years... : ( So I searched and searched for a pair of boots that were going to last me as long as my old ones did.... I have certainly found them..so glad I purchased my first ever Keen boots and they are so warm, comfortable, and stylish. I plan on buying another pair in a different color. Recommend these to anyone.
these boots are great for trudging through any wet weather conditions...snow, slush and rain. good traction. they are warm and absolutely waterproof. I bought the 'dark shadow/bayou and they look great with jeans...both tucked in the boot or over the boot. i love that they are weather appropriate and still look cute. easy on and off and seem very durable. good comfortable fit. I agree with the recommended use for "casual winter wear", dont think they'd be great for long serious hikes in the snow because they aren't laced up with a lot of ankel support. ALSO, i wasn't sure if i should order a half size up but i DID and it fit perfectly. very happy with my purchase, highly recommend them.
These are absolutely the best snow boots I have ever owned! They are easy on, easy off and they keep my toes warm for longer than any other boots I've tried before. So comfortable I wear them even when the snow has melted. Highly recommend these and Keen in general!
I am extremely pleased with the Keen Betty Boots - they are comfortable, nice lookly and most importantly very warm. My niece recommended them and I am so glad I purchased them.
fantastic boots! Warm, waterproof and with a good grip for slippery snow covered streets!fit true to size I found, good for wide feet, and look fabulous.....my sister and my mum have also bought a pair now....
These boots are amazing! So warm and soft --I live in Chicago, where it can get very cold (we're talking several degrees below zero w/ wind chill!) and we can get a ton of snow! The boots keep my feet warm better than anything else ever has.
I live in the Chicago area and walk about 20 minutes to work each day. This winter has been wet and cold. I love these boots. They are comfortable, light, warm and stylish. I have the brown/jade color. Can't go wrong
Very functional for walking around in the snow. They kept my feet VERY warm and dry. The one drawback is that your feet seem to get too warm. I wore these out and had to take them off to let my feet cool down once I got inside. Overall, a great purchase!
