Description

Incredibly lightweight but surprisingly supportive shoe for long, trail-dominating days.

The only downside for wearing the feather-light KEEN Women’s A86 TR Shoe is that switchbacks and whole ridgelines whiz by in a blur of adrenaline-aided ecstasy. Maybe that’s not so bad after all, and since this race-worthy trail running shoe weighs less than an ounce and features a shock-absorbing PU midsole, your foot won’t beg you to slow the pace throughout the entire loop.
  • Removable EVA footbed provides long-lasting cushioning so you can break the double-digit mark
  • Non-marking rubber outsole features numerous 3mm lugs to grip the trail and prevent slips or injury
  • Mesh upper and synthetic lining breathe as you break your personal record in the woods
  • Tough rubber toe rand holds up to the rocks and roots you’ll find on trail

For easy and short hikes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I wore these on a 6 mi hike that had hills about 8% grade, and the grips work really well on the gravelly and sandy paths.
Also, tried these shoes out on a more flat hike, but 15 mi long.

Pros:
This shoe has great color combos.
Great traction with the rubber grips on bottoms.
Fits true to size.
Breathable material.

Cons:
No arch support.
Shoe doesn't flex with feet making long hikes painful.

lacks the Keen footbed I'm used to

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this shoe on sale for the running and walking I do only on trails, never pavement. It has a pretty cool look, however I'm disappointed it lacks the Keen ortho footbed I'm used to with my (several) pairs of well-loved sandals, which I wear daily. It also seems less well-made and durable than I expect from Keen, without a lot of the support I'm used to. I hope that with time the EVA footbed will mold to my foot and provide better support, but at this point I wouldn't buy this shoe again.

not sure yet

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

these shoes are superlight and comfy when you put them on, but i'm not sure how i feel about them trail running yet. i took them on a trail run and was not used to the minimalist feel and thin, flexible sole. i could feel the rocks and roots underneath, and my feet were definitely working in a different way, as people say they do in these low-profile shoes. when i took them on a hike with lots of hills, they were uncomfortable.
but since they're new and a new style, i've decided to give myself time to break them in running, though i think they're not suitable for hiking.
if nothing else they're comfy for kicking around.

Looks Cool!

Way sweet looking shoes. My wife said the fit was true to size and they were comfortable to boot. Nice!

Nice.

Nice shoe, but it wasn't quite my "style". I wasn't looking for style per-say but when they came I just didn't like them. My hubby was bugged because he says they are the coolest looking shoes he has ever seen and wanted me to keep them. The off-set laces were off-putting to me and the color I got them in (the greenish/brownish ones) was as well. However, the off-set laces made the fit more comfortable and easy to tighten. I am sure if I were a "real" runner I would have kept them. But since I am just a light fair weather runner, I took them back and got something more visually appealing to me. I got them in a five and they seemed pretty true to size to me.

Great Runners!

I'm already a fan of Keen and they haven't let me down on this one. The 3 mm lugs really do provide a nice grip to the trail. Keen payed attention to where they put the lugs as well- there are no half cut lugs on edges of the sole. I really like that the lacing does not go right up the top of your foot as well, definitely more comfortable while running. Keens tend to have an out of the box nice fit to them and these ones are no different. I did order a half size up and got a 9 instead of my standard 8.5 and glad I did. Really the only reason I'm giving this 4/5 stars is because I have noticed a bit of slip in the right sole insert. It's an easy fix and probably more of a result of my running than the actual shoe. Besides look at these colors! Bright shoes=fast feet!

Love!

These shoes are super light weight and comfortable. The shape of the laces are perfect so you can tighten them up with the shape of your foot, making them nice & snug. They are extremely breathable and I haven't had a problem with my feet being too hot, which is something that I run into quite often. I love these shoes and would definitely recommend them! I own the Black/Nile Blue pair in a size 8. (I usually wear a 7 1/2 or an 8 in other brands but am always an 8 in Keen)

In LOVE!

I was leery of ordering my normal size (7.5) after reading all the reviews about them running small, but am so thankful I did. They fit perfectly! They are super lightweight and beyond comfortable...not too mention cute! Literally, everytime I wear them, people compliment them nonstop. Awesome purchase!

Great Shoe

Bought These shoes for my wife and she absolutely loves them. They are super light and comfortable.

Order half size larger

I tried my actual size of 6 1/2 and a size 7. The smaller ones felt fine until I tried to play another 9 holes of golf. That's when my toes started screaming that the shoe was too short. I'm sending them back. I like the 7's, but I had to buy an insert with arch support. Much better! I'm not ecstatic about the coral/red, but they go with a lot of my golf clothes so I'll keep them. They're really more orange than coral, but oh well. I'm returning the purple in hopes that I can reorder that same color in a size 7.

Try this one on!

When I started looking at Trail Running shoes and the different styles out there, I decided to just try on every item on the shelf. This one really surprised me, it look built for fashion, but the lugs are great for asend or descend slopes! The instant comfort with no break in needed!

Responded on

I usually wear a 7.5, but had to return these and get an 8, which fit! Seem to run a little small, my husband says the men's do too, since he also had to buy a half size larger.
