The Kayland Women\222s Convert Boots are lightweight, nimble, and supportive enough for your most ambitious treks. The Lycra-infused suede uppers resist abrasion yet flex for comfort during strenuous ten-mile hikes. The last\222s enhanced rocker promotes a natural, forward rolling motion, so you can push for the summit with the agility you\222d expect from trail runners. The EVA midsoles absorb impact, and the arch and heel TPU stabilizers make for confident footing. These boots\222 Convert lacing system features anatomical, asymmetrical lacing, extended for a precise fit all the way to your toes. Free floating lace points allow the uppers to conform to your foot\222s shape and movements without pinching, while the ankle lock system adds support and prevents energy-wasting, blister-causing foot slop. Knurled rubber toe caps protect your feet from hidden dangers on the trail.

Bottom Line: Convert to flexible, lightweight support.

Unforgiving Feet Say "Ten Toes Up!"

By:
April 24, 2010

Due to bad genes and bunions, I have one foot 1/2 inch wider just below the toes, so fitting into a backpacking boot with comfort has been extremely difficult. I started with a size 6.5 Kayland Convert in grey, loved the color but no way on the fit. Then I tried 6 other boots (Vasque, Keen, Asolo, etc.) but something brought me back to Kayland. So I tried a size 7 and voila! Instant toe happiness. Due to the unusual lacing structure, I can make the right boot loose across the toes, snug over the arches straight up to the top while the left boot is tied tighter at the toe. Great ankle support without chafing. Being short and only 103#, I needed a boot sturdy enough to carry 45 pounds for a 13 day trek, but not so heavy that the boots fatigued me. The Kayland Convert is perfect. I am up to carrying 35 pounds on soft snow, marshy tundra and slick ice, and I'm confident on my feet even without a trekking pole. Love the rocker action which propels me forward and gives that extra oomph for the arch. I am a believer, but what's even better, I'll be able to do my trek without aching bunions, toes and feet - 10 toes up on the Kayland Convert!

Awesome Boots!

These boots fit and feel great. I have a narrow heel, high instep and am wide across the ball of my foot...very hard to find a great fit. The toe box on these boots is perfect, roomy but not boxy. My heel does not slide and because there are so many eyelets, I can lace them to have room for my high instep. It would be very hard to roll your ankle in these boots because the stability is great. My one complaint...the green pea puke color...LOL. But then I'm not out there for a fashion statement! Buy them...you won't regret it!

I can't decide between the Kayland Convert and the Kayland

I can't decide between the Kayland Convert and the Kayland Vertigo High. I bought both and they are both comfortable in different ways. I'm more of a day-hiker if that makes a difference. Any pros or cons I'm missing?

Why not keep both? It's always good to have a second pair of reliable walking gear handy. This way if one pair gets wet, you always have a back-up.

These are a great fit. Matched my shoe size exactly - having a short but B width foot .... plus love the color!

these boots fit great and are extremely stable. they are also light for a backpacking boot, and don't make your foot look giant. i wore them backpacking the narrows in Zion national park and they held up great. i would definitely recommend these.
