Kavu Westbay Dress - Women's - 2007 BCS

Like most, I also had a problem with the fit through the chest. Unlike most, though, mine was the opposite: it was way too big. Though I am a little small in the bust area, I'm not that small. I'm not sure the sizing is completely consistent. But the cut of the dress is super cute as well as the fabric. I ended up getting the dress altered and now it's wonderful!

Cute cute summer dress!! But.....as the other review said, it runs extremely small in the bust. So not true to size in that area. If you can get a size (or two) up, I highly recommend this dress. It is lightweight and will be very cool and comfortable for summer wear. This is a casual sundress. Did I mention cute?

I was initially really really excited about this dress because I LOVE the fabric, and the shape of the dress fit me quite well. But, the chest area was not very well designed. I wear a Medium in almost everything, and have a 36C chest... but the chest on the medium in this dress was definitley too small for me. There isn't really any give in the fabric, so I ended up with smashed/flattened boobs. Very sad. Had to return the dress.

As mentioned there is very little (if any) expansion in this dress. I think it runs a bit small. The shape is adorable though. I had no problems with the fit in the chest. (I am 36C/160lbs. and ordered a L and XL). I ordered a L and it was a little too tight so I exchanged it for XL. Unfortunately the Blue that I originally ordered (and loved!) did not come in XL. I didn't really like the black so I sent it back. Now I have none. =(

The dress is really really cute. The fabric does not give at all. The cut and style is cute. I am 5'4 165 pounds and I ordered a large. It was too tight. I did not have the problem in the chest as some did and I am a 36C. I am going to try to go up one size to see how that works. I liked it enough to try again! Too bad they don't have the color I originally ordered (blue clouds) in the size I am going to try. Oh well, black is always more forgiving-just not the color I want for a sun dress.

So I ordered this for my day job because I love wearing bamboo, the anti microbial and all that, but the boob area was too big, I had to ponder getting it altered, so i have it and still have not worn it, although the product itself is high quality as is the material, it's just the fit around the chest was not good. I'd recommend this but see if you can measure exactly or try it in a store then order it from backcountry.com because they rock.

The cut and fabric of this summer dress are great, but the sizing problem that many experienced is probably due to an overall labeling error. I ordered a medium, which should be big enough for my size, however the dress was unusually small, and at closer inspection I noticed that the inside label said SMALL, whereas the outside tag was labeled as MEDIUM. Since there were no more dresses left to arrange for an exchange I resorted to my sewing skills and inserted a narrow linen fabric strip along the side seams. I'm glad I didn't buy it full-price. Hopefully next season the dress will be back with correct labels.

this dress had no shape and was not flattering for me. Ordered a small and it was big thru the back and hips. Maybe it could be improved with some darts. one nice feature is the straps are removable for those who can pull off a strapless.

I like this simplicity of this dress. Great for Farmer's Market or Saturday night dinner.
I'm 5'3" and 130 lbs I bought a size medium bc of the bust. The fabric does not give at all. The elastic at the back is not very strong and under my arms the fabric bags just a little. This is a small downfall as I just put a few tucks and stitches in with my needle.
I recommend this dress at the sale price. It's a good all around summer dress.

I like this dress. It's a simple yet elegant design that I can wear to the Farmer's Market or dinner dates.

I agree with the previous reviewer: this dress runs small. Also, the ease at the bust is under the arms, like a tube top, but it has straps...very strange.

The fabric's really nice. All in all, at the sale price it's a good deal. At full price, I don't think it's worth it.
