Tiny, and not the promised length

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small
  • Size Bought: 30

I ordered these shorts for my husband to wear while bouldering. He wears a 28 inch waist in jeans and work trousers. I ordered him a size 30 for a little extra room. The shorts that arrived, marked as 30- inch waist, were entirely too small for him, and had to be ridden to Steve Urkel heights for him to even close the snap, which kept popping open as we laughed about their odd fit. Also, the legs seemed a bit shorter than the length the online description implied. That may have been partly due to the wedgie-levels they were riding at, though. Definitely not a climbing short! We are returning them.

Great Short

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

I'm pretty happy with these shorts. Great fit and length and the material is slightly stretchy so there is give when climbing in tight spots. Like below, the inseam is slightly shorter than the stated 9" but I'm all good with it as I'm a little on the shorter side. Great functional side zip pocket and the material doesn't catch very easily. When I first received them, I thought the stitching was a bit poor and that quality/durability would be an issue but so far, they've held up to everything I've put 'em through!

My actual waist is about 30" but the 32" shorts seems to fit pretty much perfectly.

CAN'T ARGUE WITH KAVU

I am extremely pleased with my pair of Kavu Rockbounds, they are built well and really allow me to show some skin without being too scandalous. Although it is listed as having a 9" inseam, I would really have to say it feels/looks more like a 6-7" inseam. I got some good sun on my legs the first day I wore them because I am used to having slightly longer inseams, but all good! I have been wearing Kavu apparel for awhile now and knew what to expect and know that they're inseam does run a little small/short for me, while they're waist is true to size every time.

My first impressions of the shorts were actually slightly low because there were some lose threads on the shorts, the zipper didn't feel very smooth and the build quality of the shorts didn't seem very solid.. I was wrong and too quick to judge! I have been putting these shorts through hell since day 1 and they keep begging for more!! Plus the chicks dig them!

The shorts are cut for active lifestyles, they extremely mobile and versatile, very quick drying and, best of all, the look good. Living on the east coast it tends to get pretty humid during the summer months, which unfortunately for me, that means a lot of sweat.. these shorts stay comfy and dry very quickly.

The hand pockets are nice and deep, and are made of mesh which I really like. I do worry about the mesh ripping/snagging on keys from time to time, but again, I am very impressed with how well these shorts have held up to swimming in creeks and streams, running, hiking, backpacking, biking, just about anything and everything I can throw at them and they deliver results!

I highly recommend these shorts to anyone looking for a good pair of shorts that have a slightly shorter inseam, which allow for better movement and versatility AND they're great for anyone looking for a good conversation starter, "excuse me but my face is up here" as women won't be able to stop staring at your legs.
