From the instant I opened my package, i knew it was perfect. The fabric is so soft and comfortable! I sized down based on the other posters advice and the small was perfect for my 5'4 135 lb body. It is flattering but still hits below the knee which makes it comfortable but also appropriate for plenty of situations! I was bummed to see there weren't any others left in my size!
Nice skirt..a bit pricy though

The skirt looks and feels and fits nicely. But for what it is, I felt it was a bit pricy so I sent it back since I found another skirt cheaper and suited me just as well.

Great skirt. Super flattering. Useful for all purposes. True to size. I can't say enough good about it.

i bought this skirt for my girlfriend and she loves it. it's a great length, a bit below the knees, and can be rolled up at the waist to make it different lengths if necessary. there is also a nifty little key-pocket right below the waistband for putting valuables and whatnot into.
best skirt ever. all the time for every purpose.

i have this in green and red (not sure if backcountry carries those now) and i wash them in every load of laundry. flexible enough to bike in, long enough for work (in fact you can make it significantly longer and shorter by pulling the yoga-pants type waistband up or down) and has that rad tiny pocket, which is so perfect for an atm card, hair tie, and a house key to walk to dog to the store. i will probably get every color they make because i have stopped wearing other clothes on my lower half. this skirt even works over tights (not too much clinging somehow). its pretty tight in the hips and is definitely form fitting but i think its very flattering and its so comfy i dont care. it has a nice shape overall too-not pencil shaped but not a wide A line either. put it this way- i can sit on an exercise ball at my desk, ride a bike, etc, but the skirt wont go flapping over my head in a breeze either. oh yeah and it's pretty much wrinkle-free too.
Wore it as cover up and skirt

I bought this as a travel skirt for Europe. I bought the black. It was terrific I could wear it as a skirt and also I wore it as a cover up over my bathing suit. You can also wear it as a dress if you want. The skirt wore very well and even in black it was cool. I liked the fact that it was an over the knee skirt for me (I am 5' 3") and also I could use it as a dress that was not too short. It is a great travel skirt. The skirt was fitted with a nice flare. It is true to size. It was cooler than shorts and you could dress it up as well to wear to a nice restaurant for dinner.
So comfy!

I like the hug of the skirt on the hips and the slight flair after the bum. It flows nicely and is great for kicking around town. Definitely worth buying.
Love it!

I was really hoping this skirt would be a form fitting skirt with a flare at the bottom. But other than it fitting at the waist it was really baggy and not flattering at all. The color was different then it appeared in the picture. All in all a very blah skirt.
Not a sleek fit

The other reviewers are right that the fabric is very nice. I did not like the cut of this skirt; the picture makes it look slim cut but it actually only hugs just below the waist then flares out. I don't find it flattering and am returning it.
Great skirt

First time trying this brand. Love the fabric and the length. I'm 5'5" and the skirt hits me right around the knee. Will work great with boots and tights in the winter and flats in the summer.
Me too

I have read some of the other reviews. I also agree this is a great skirt. The coin pocket add some fun flair. I purchased it is gray and it working out well for me.
Great looking, soft skirt

Overall, I am a huge fan of this skirt. I am 5'2, so I usually have issues with length. This skirt hits me about mid-calf, which I really like. The fabric is extraordinarily soft but still substantial enough to keep shape. Because it is more form-fitting than other cotton skirts, it can easily be dressed up or down.
Ahhhhh....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these skirts. I bought 2 and I will most likely buy more. I wish they were a little cheaper... A little pricey for me, but overall, a FANTASTIC skirt! You won't be sorry!

I ordered the S which is rather loose at the waist on me such that I have to fold the waist strip down over itself so that it doesn't flop around. I'm not the tiniest women on earth so I find this quite surprising.
Otherwise it has a nice cut, length and the fabric feels fantastic.
Way too tight for my comfort...

This skirt may be lovely on someone with a little less junk in their trunk, but for me (I'm a size 10/12) the Large was way too reveling.
best skirt ever

I live in Australia and am so pleases that I can shopnlone at backcountry.com. I love this skirt! It is hands down the most flattering and comfortable skirt for everyday or travel wear. I travel a lot and am always on the lookout for practical but stylish clothes to wear when I am travelling. This skirt is it! I have just ordered in another colour. I am 5 4" and it hit just below the knee. The medium is perfect for me, I usually wear a US12.
color misleading

I ordered the tomato color, based on the online pictures. It looked like an orange-red, which I love. It is actually a faded red that looks nothing like the picture. Big disappointment - it's going back.
Great fabric

This skirt's fabric is unbelievable. It stretches to curves and hits me at just the right length (I'm 5'8" and it hit at low shin). I did return it, however, because it was really fitting around the toosh and then flared out just under,...it wasn't really flattering on me.
