Took to Isle Royale National Park on a 7 day hike. Filters water quick and is compact and light weight.

Classic Water Treatment
We've been using this company since it existed. This is our "go to" water purification setup. Works well for up to 2 people. We have about 12 of these and they all work wonderfully.

Heavy and messy, would not recommend. Use the gravity style filters if at all possible. Too bulky for backpacking. Although it didn’t break it looks flimsy.

Easy, compact, & light
Super easy to use, store, & carry. It's everything you need, and works great for 2 people on backpacking trips in the PNW, where you can oftentimes find a lake or creek.

Excellent quality and weight for the price point.
The hiker pro was recommended to me by a friend. I've had it on 3 back country hunts and multiple hikes and it hasn't failed once. Another hunter was using a MSR and it filtered so slow I was able to fill a 6L bag in more than half the time, plus the Katadyn is lighter. I was able to pull water from even a trickle of a stream. Haven't had an issue with it yet. Great quality, great price, no brainer.

Great Filter
This is an awesome addition to my pack. It works great for filling up my hydro pack with the quik attach that comes with it

I haven't had a chance to use this exact model yet, but made this purchase after borrowing a friend's Katadyn filter on a three day backpacking trip. It was perfect for pumping water for the two of us - lightweight, easy to pack up and find in a backpack and easy to clean. I love the little carrying case it comes with and found pumping four liters of water for us to be accomplished in just a few minutes. Looking forward to getting back out on the trail!

Worked flawlessly
Had this on a 10 day back country hunt. Was able to pull water from any river, creek or spring I came across. Was even able to fill my buddies bags due to the water being too shallow for them to fill their filtration bags.

Katadyn Hiker Pro
I just completed a sheep hunt in the Absaroka wilderness area in Montana. I used it daily without any degradation in performance and the water tastes fine. There is a lot of pumping to do but it works as advertised.

Does it’s job but fragile.
I only had to order a second one of these cause my first broke at the top on the threads where the filter screws in after one backpacking hunting trip. So could be a little more resilient/sturdy. But the old one before it broke and the new one both worked fantastic, clear good tasting water from a creek decal miles in is always a welcomed and essential thing! The fact that you can clean the filters and squeeze a little more life out of them is awesome but it doesn't give ya much more life with our water anyway. Don't think the filters last as long as they like to advertise. I tend to get one one week hunting trip out of these for drinking and cooking freeze dried meals with before it becomes a chore to pump with the filter even after cleaning it as directed. Again this could be our hard water here in Wyoming.
