Slap your skins on the hike-happy Karhu Kodiak Telemark and Alpine Touring Ski and set out for a day of mixed conditions and the occasional powder stash. With its progressive all-mountain sidecut, the Kodiak tackles anything from ice to powder. Whether you're heading out for a long tour or day inside the resort boundaries, the Kodiak charges with a smooth-flexing maple/aspen Macroblock core and a waist wide enough for powder, but nimble enough tight spots. The die-cut titanal reinforcement grants strength underfoot where you need it, without adding unnecessary weight. Cross that bulletproof traverse without fear and rail spring corn with confidence.

Bottom Line: When your tour takes you to unexpected conditions, count on the versatile Karhu Kodiak Telemark and Alpine Touring Ski to show you a good time.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

The Kodiaks are a great do everything tele ski. I've owned mine for 5 +/- years and have skied them on everything from the chopped hardpack of a race course to knee deep, backcountry powder. I can say they rarely disappoint. Although I've got some super fat powder boards that out perform the bears in the deep or manky, if the day calls for a long skin and who-knows-what on the ride down, I'm always reaching for the Kodiaks.

Solid edge on hard pack, easy/quick turn initiation in almost any condition, light on the uphill, reasonable float on soft days. Pair them with a BD 01 binding and you've got the ultimate East Coast BC set up.

Con: Does get bounced around in the slop compared to the big machines out there today. Not your first choice on a deep, day at the resort. Bring back the bear-face graphic!

No!Most telemark skiers use alpine touring skis now, they are kind of one in the same! There is only a small percentage of people using telemark skis, they are a dying breed.I think k2 even stopedmaking tele skis because everyone was buying the touring and alpine skis anyway,it is because of the stiffer tele boots!
