The harshest winter conditions will feel like a stroll down a sunny beach when you’re wearing the Kamik Men’s Patriot Winter Boot. Thanks to full-grain waterproof leather and Thinsulate Ultra insulation, your feet will be warm and dry whether you’re out on a winter hike or just scraping off the car after a blizzard. Kamik added rustproof hardware and a waterproof rubber shell for durability, and a moisture-wicking liner and antibacterial EVA footbed to keep your feet dry and fresh. The Triumph rubber outsole grips snowy trails or icy sidewalks, and the padded collar and gusseted tongue keep snow and ice out.

Bottom Line: Revolutionary winter footwear to keep you warm and dry.

not what you expect

I have bought the 2007 model and I have loved these boots as my feet were always dry and warm, the design very modern and even despite the lace problem, which is a definitive con: The lace hooks were so sharp, that I went through quite a number of lace pairs (during a continuous use about 2 a week!). Another very big con was, that only after about three years of use (during this time all together a max. of about 3 to 5 months of wearing time) the shoes fell literally apart. The seams came off the lower rubber part and also the sole came off on one of the shoes. As this happened during a snowy hike in the Alps this was extra disappointing. My retailer in Germany told me that Kamik improved the problems with this shoe but even though, I loved the boot while it was working, I kind of lost my trust in Kamik with this model; especially after I read a review on the recent 2011 Patriot 3 boot, where someone also reported the problem about the laces.

Winter Atheltic Boots

By:

These are the boots to wear if you are looking to do winter outdoor activity that involes walking. Unlike the traditional "pac" boot or Sorels as most people know, these boots fit well, and are relatively light weight. They are not floppy and do not have excessive heel slip. You can lace them up to the ankles only and slip in and out of them, or you can lace them all the way up for some serious action. They are plenty warm, but the liner do not come out. A double boot, sorel pac type with removable linears, are floppy by nature. Water proof boots of this caliber are not breathable, so foot sweat can cause dampness inside. Drying the inside requires a boot dryer. Out of the box the boot is very stiff and might be uncomfortable at the top of the cuff/chalf/shin area. I simply laced them up the the 2nd to last hook for the first several times wearing it. They have since softened up and I lace them all the way to the top now. Though the boot is 11 inch tall, the tounge is not fully gusteted, or attached to the boot all the way to the cuff/top (the last three hooks). Thus if you stand in 10" deep water, they will get wet. But these are winter/snow boots not waders. The lacing hardware is some of the best I have ever seen. The pivoting lower eyes, and first locking hook, really keep the lacing pressure distributed evenly over the forefoot, and secure for all day wear. The back logo tab if beefy enough to work as a semi automatic crampon notch, but not really in the right spot. Might work if you have alot of vertical adjustment in the heel piece of your crampons. I have been very pleased with these boots and Kamik as a company.

I'm just a city slicker who was looking for a boot to handle intermediate snowfall. This boot provided the height, traction and waterproof qualities that fit the bill. The boots are made of tough and durable materials that can hold up to anything. The deep treads worked well in ice and snow preventing me from slipping on my...
