Description

Know no boundaries.

No matter what cold-weather country you call home, Kamik made its insulated Nation Plus Winter Boot to take on its cold, wet, and icy winter conditions. Icy tundra and wet snow are no match for the Nation Plus\222 Snowgrip rubber outsole and integrated rubber shell. And with its 11-inch waterproof suede shaft, staying dry as you walk through the deep fluffy stuff isn\222t a problem either. Fully taped seams keep slush and water from finding ways of smuggling themselves across the boots\222 boarders, and a moisture-wicking, insulated, removable liner helps transport your foot sweat away from your feet while keeping your toes toasty warm.

Excellent winter boot

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 1"
    Weight: 240 lbs
    Size Purchased: 12

I bought these to replace my cheap coleman boots and to use while hiking/snowshoeing in the deep New England snow that we got this year. These boots are fantastic. They were nice and snug and extremely warm. The removable liner concerned me because I thought that it might pull out every time I remove my foot, but they didn't. Liner stayed firmly in place. For the price, you can't beat the quality or comfort of these boots.

Outstanding boots & outstanding service

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 7"
    Weight: 168 lbs
    Size Purchased: 9

I needed to buy these boots to make my bi-annual trip to NYC to photograph Fashion Week. Every February is always the polar opposite to my life in Austin Texas. In 10 seasons I have never had the right boots for NY cold and snow. This season I set out to protect the feet as part of my strategy to have a successful season. I found the boots on Amazon because of their amazing ratings after a slew of reviews (4.5 after 209 reviews - the highest I saw for boots under $100) I then thought I would shop around to see if my theory that Amazon was the cheapest option to secure these boots.
To my surprise, I found them $25 cheaper and that was here on BackCountry.com.
I got online on the chat tool to ask a question about shipping and I was assisted by the wonderful Kyle who get me the boots in a very short amount of time to make sure they were with me before I left for NY.

Not only were the boots very comfortable, but they broke no promises in keeping my feet warm and dry.

In closing I recommend the Kamik Nation Plus for waterproof boots that keep you warm in conditions as low as -40, Backcountry for amazing deals, and Kyle for outstanding service (give that guy a raise :)

From the Kamik Website: About Us.

Our parent company, Genfoot, is a proudly Canadian, family-run company, and we’ve been manufacturing shoes in North America for 100 years.

Kamik Quick Facts

*Kamik is an Inuit word meaning "foot covering"
*Kamik is owned by Genfoot, a Canadian manufacturer of footwear since 1898

Their father, Gordon, continues to stay involved with the business.
*We have three manufacturing facilities: in Montreal, Quebec; Hamburg, Ontario; and Littleton, New Hampshire
*Two of the plants are in historic facilities, starting production in 1898
*Genfoot launched the Kamik brand in 1975

Jim,
This particular boot is made in China. I was thinking they would be Canadian when I ordered them, but in looking at the Kamik site, they are not made is the US or Canada. Nonetheless, they look like they will do a good job.
