For the practical backcountry assassin.
Inspired and tested by the discerning K2 pro team, the K2 Pilchuck Backpack was made to deliver you to the backcountry with just what you need. The minimalist design of the Pilchuck Backpack features dedicated organization for your shovel and probe located on the exterior of the pack, freeing up the eleven-liter main compartment for an extra layer and lunch.
An insulated hydration sleeve prevents your precious water supply from freezing up halfway through the day, and shovel blade, shovel handle, and probe pockets to keep your avy gear close at hand. A molded back panel provides a custom fit for maximum comfort, and a hip belt and sternum strap help distribute the load. A lined goggle pocket keeps your lenses from getting scratched, and Duraflex buckles withstand harsh conditions so your gear doesn't fail you when you need it the most.

The Essentialist All Terrain Charger!!!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Snowboarding or Cycling to work, I use this backpack every day! For Splitboarding this backpack has a pole pocket on each side of the Camelbak bladder holder. It also has a shovel pocket and a handle holder you can cinch down. I really appreciate the insulated hydration sleeve, it is a must have for getting out there in the bitter cold. I use the zip up goggle holder inside of the bag as my security pocket for my keys, wallet, and cell phone. One feature that separates this bag from the others is the easy to buckle and heavy duty Duraflex buckles. Buckles can be an issue especially when your hands get cold, so I love how these buckles easily slide and lock together with minimal effort. This bag does not include a Hip belt with camera pocket! But is very comfortable for day to day use. I can fit everything I need plus a lunch in this thing, without feeling bulky or bogged down. Lastly a little hit: This bag works great with K2 Speed Link Poles! Smallest splitboarding pole on the market!!!

i was stoked on the style and design of this bag but worried it would be too small. definitely TOO small. a hoodie and a sack lunch is about all you could fit inside the bag. the "goggle" pocket is more like a sunglass pocket. my goggles werent even close to fitting. overall, looks real good. semi-functional. more like a sexy backpack for school. get it if you dont need much room, if not, look for something bigger.
