The 230cm probe deploys with lightening-fast speed and ultimate security, the shovel is ultralight but supremely durable, and the Hyak pack has tool-specific pockets and carry options for skis or a snowboard. This kit was designed for backcountry skiers or snowboarders who absolutely must travel light but who refuse to go beyond the boundaries of the resort without reliable avalanche safety equipment.

  • Hyak Pack's padded shoulder straps, padded back panel, and load lifter straps help you carry heavy loads and fat skis comfortably
  • Hyak Pack storage includes an internal, insulated hydration sleeve, a fleece-lined goggle pocket, and probe and shovel pockets among others
  • Hyak Pack has three options for carrying skis and one option for carrying a snowboard
  • Avalanche Probe Carbon 230's carbon shaft is super light and incredibly stiff so it pierces through dense snow with ease
  • Carbon 230 probe uses a t-grip handle and K2's Backslide Auto Lock system for fast and secure deployment from collapsed to fully assembled, and the shaft has precise 1cm ruler markings for snow study
  • K2 Speed Shovel is a minimal, basic tool for moving lots of snow quickly, but it doesn't sacrifice durability or reliability to keep things light
  • K2 Speed Shovel has an extendable shaft, blade webbing holes so you can use it as a Deadman anchor, and a comfortable t-grip handle
