A Bioflex core puts a stiff flexing fir core under your feet for stability at speed, and adds a softer-flexing spruce wood under the tip and tail for forgivingness and turn initiation. I'm 5'3" and weight 120 lbs. I was going to mount

I'm 5'3" and weight 120 lbs. I was going to mount these on an AT binding. My resort skis are Phat Luvs and they are 167. Should I go 160 for the backcountry in these, so they will be lighter? If I go shorter, will I not float as well skinning?

if I were you i would stay with the 167s if you are touring with a pack you will want the extra flotation. plus you already know you can handle it. why don't you use mount your Phat Loves with an AT binding and get a true powder ski.

I was thinking about buying these skis in an AT setup. My only worry is that they aren't that wide. Has anyone skiied these in the backcountry on powder? How about skinning, do they float?

they will be OK, for what you are looking for i would look at something around 100mm, this will give you better float and more of an all round ski (depending on where you live). if you are our east you will have a blast, though you may like a stiffer ski. out west getting 100mm under foot isn't too much.

All this said, these are FUN skis, they are light and good for 75% of your days out there.

Looking to start free heeling this winter - I alpine advanced terrain in Vail for the most part on K2 Phat Luvs - 160s. I want to go up in size anyway, wondering if this is an okay set to start tele-ing on?
