This stick is fresh. I bought a 159 despite it being a freestyle board because I knew I would be going all mountain on it. Well, it just so happened we go hit with major fresh about two weeks ago. I took it on the resort and it handled just fine. The board is super light and responsive. However, as many others have said, the board does get chipped up easy. I took it out just one day and it already looks like it's been through three seasons, which sucks.
I would definitely recommend.
Its for the 08/09 season. So it is the current release.

some people say the top peels easy, can you do anything to stop

I've seen people actually drill holes in their board and put nuts and bolts in to stop this/fix this. I suppose you could do that. It would be similar to the rivets in some of K2's ski line. Also keep in mind that this board has a one year warranty with K2, and a LIFETIME warranty with backcountry. So if your board starts peeling out of no where for no reason, you can send it back.
