K2 DarkSide Ski
Available Colors / Styles
Whether your sights are set on long tours in the backcountry or pow-hunting in-bounds, the early-rise tip, 128-millimeter-waisted K2 DarkSide Ski is game. The Darkside's flat tail offers stability for out-of-bounds traverses and high-speed exits and is convenient for pit digging, plus K2 included a notch in the tail so your skins stay put all skin-track long.
- Early-rise tips, or K2's Powder Rocker, make for effortless skiing in the deeps—the rockered tips rise above the pow immediately so you don't have to lean back to float
- Torsion box construction creates a solid underfoot sidewall while reducing weight in the tips and tails for nimbleness in the deeps
- Aspen and paulownia core creates an optimal combination of stability and weight savings—great for transitioning between out-of-bounds and in-bounds skiing

Super-fun ski !!!

I have only used these skis 6 days so far but have found that they perform wonderfully in a variety of conditions. From groomers at Heavenly to 1-2 feet of powder at Kirkwood, the Darksides rip everything in their path with ease. The camber region underfoot and to the tail allows you to edge up really well on firm snow while the rockered region from the front of the binding to the tip provides great flotation in powder. My best day on them so far has been at Kirkwood a couple of days ago in which I encountered some great wind-buffed powder, fresh powder, and firm (almost icy) snow. These things are very stable and allow you to float through soft and choppy snow but also edge with enough control to keep you where you want to be at precisely the right moments on firm snow. Surprisingly light for their size as well which make small airs fun and easy to land with their stability.
Change me.

These Skis are the Best
I've skied these puppies in the Wasatch and Tetons: incredibly nimble in powder with GREAT floatation. The rocker makes them incredibly maneuverable more...
