Description

The K2 Apache Outlaw Alpine Ski with Marker M1 Piston 12 Binding knows no bounds.

From the trees to the corduroy, powder to crust, the K2 Apache Outlaw Alpine Ski with Marker M1 Piston 12 Binding owns the mountain in any condition. With a wide, versatile footprint, the Outlaw can rule any resort in the Wild West. The K2 Apache Outlaw's favorite conditions are tricky steeps and powder-filled bowls, but it'll also run with the best of them when low snowfall or fickle temperatures relegate you to the groomers, thanks to a vibration dampening MOD secondary elastomeric core. A metal laminate over the durable fir and aspen core provides a stable, torsionally stiff platform for advanced, all mountain skiers. The included Marker M1 Binding uses toe and heel spacers that are 30% wider than other rail systems for increased leverage over the ski. If you ski areas like Vail, Mt. Baker, or Squaw, where the snow falls but conditions can vary greatly from day to day, the Outlaw Alpine Ski will set you free. *Available for US shipment only.

I'm a racer, and I generally like my skis race-stock stiff. I'm looking for a ski for when I head out west again that would essentially be a one-ski quiver, fun to romp on groomers, but still great float, maneuverability in the Jupiter Glades, decent in the air, passable on moguls. Keep in mind that I am willing to sacrifice some amount of stiffness for better landability (?) pow float, and lightness, I just don't want them to ski like twin tips. So my question is, would I be best served by the Outlaws in the 88 waist, the 92 waist, the Hellcats, or the B94s? Or maybe another ski? All answers appreciated! BTW I'm 6'1", 180, male obviously

I demoed the outlaw last December at Alta. My buddy bought a pair earlier in the season and kept tellin me how much fun they were. My skier type... Id def say very aggressive, and maybe a little crazy at times- Im a college student, ok? Im 6'4" 180lbs, usually ride no shorter than 90 waist, just cause Im apprehensive for my desired terrain. They were out of the 181, so being a week day, they cut me a deal on the 174. Now, the powder ability was surprisingly good, not amazing though. My friend who is on patrol at Big Sky has the 181 for his long days, and I can understand his decision. Very light, responsive, fast, and capable of hitting anything on the mountain. Personally, for my riding preference, I like a wider and stiffer, If I was an all mtn skier, no question, these would be the setup. You wont find em' at a better deal, at 500 you are borderline stealing these!
