Lady posteriors are different than dude posteriors, so a saddle that's made for guys won't work as well for gals. Obvious? Maybe, but the Juliana Primiero Women's Saddle is somehow still one of the women's-specific MTB saddles on the market. Made with a wider shape than men's saddles, the Primiero is designed to support women's sit bones, but it's not so wide that it will interfere with your pedaling and movement in the saddle. The flex-tuned composite shell flexes to save your sensitive bits from getting banged up, but is stiff enough to support aggressive pedaling, and low-profile padding offers gentle cushioning where you need it. An anatomical center channel helps reduce pressure, chromoly rails keep it locked on to your seat post, and the Kevlar-reinforced cover is smooth, sleek, and seriously durable.

    Great saddle for women

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A race feel mtb saddle that you can ride for hours? Yep. You can tell that Juliana put some time into making a "race" feel saddle with maximal comfort for women. Not the lightest on the market (but not the heaviest either), but grams go out the window when you realize you're still comfy 3 hours into a ride. Just picked one up for the roadie, too.

It has made all of the difference...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've riden the factory WTB saddle that came on my men's Yeti cycle for the last two seasons. And now I can't help but ask myself, whyyyyyy? (Nothing against the WTB saddle, but after riding a women's specific seat I realized it was not the right fit for me.)

We all know that seat fit is a personal preference, but this one made all the difference for me. I thought being miserable after a ride was part of the package, and was reluctant to buy a women's specific seat because it didn't look like it would fit that differently; but that little difference went a long way for me.

I agree with the comments Lexi made below that the break-in period is much shorter with this seat. I also felt, well, "damaged" after longer rides with my old seat, and despite the fact that it doesn't have a "pressure relief channel" I have found that I didn't really need it as I am much much more comfortable.

    No Pressure relief channel

Saddles are a personal fit, but if you are looking for a comfortable performance seat with pressure relief channel or the cut out style - DO NOT get this seat.

I recommend the Fizik Arione Donna (comes stock on the new Giant Liv Bikes).

My old MTB seat was the Specialized's Ariel which I loved, but they no longer make it.

    SADDLE UP!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You always dread those first rides of the season where you need to toughen up them booty muscles and break your riding buns in again. This only took about 3 rides with this women's specific saddle by Juliana. This was significantly less time than required to become accustomed to the stock saddle that came with both my Rocky Mountain Altitude and my Intense Tracer.

Comfy for both long and short rides, I'm completely satisfied with this saddle. Never experienced chafing, discomfort, etc.

Juliana is putting solid thought and effort into this women's specific saddle and I'm stoked it's mine.

    SADDLE UP!
