Life used to be pretty simple, but it seems like it gets exponentially more complicated every year. That same pattern holds true with bikes, but the Juliana Juno R Complete Women's Mountain Bike is bucking the trend with a tried-and-true design that's elegant, durable, and ready to ride without tons of fiddling, maintenance, and pre-ride adjustment.
If the Juno is a do-it-all throwback, it stands to reason that it's most comfortable on rides that offer up a little bit of everything. Juliana tossed newfangled carbon out the window in favor of durable and lightweight aluminum, and it endowed the Juno with a 68-degree head tube angle that's as comfortable rallying down ragged trails as it is climbing up steep switchbacks. A low bottom bracket also helps improve stability by keeping the Juno's center of gravity low, and the easy-to-maintain single-pivot Fox Float CTD Evolution rear shock serves up 125mm of bump-sucking travel. The Evolution comes complete with Fox's CTD (Climb Trail Descend) switch, which allows you make on-the-fly adjustments to your suspension, so you have an efficient pedaling platform on climbs and a plush feel on rocky descents. The fork, a RockShox Sector Gold RL, offers up a trail-ready 130mm of travel. RockShox' Solo Air system lets you pump both air spring chambers through one Schrader valve for easy adjustment.
While the frame and suspension are optimized for female riders, the Juno's groupset is a curated blend of Shimano and SRAM components fit for any all-mountain rider. Juliana opted for reliability over newfangled adjustment-heavy tech, and started with Shimano SLX shifters, Shimano Deore brakes, and Shimano RT66 rotors to keep you pedaling smoothly and braking reliably. The front derailleur's a SRAM X5, the rear a Shimano XT, and they're paired with a Shimano SLX cassette and SRAM S100 crankset, respectively, to provide a great gear range for the steepest climbs and fastest descents. Light and durable WTB Frequency rims are shoed with tubeless-ready 27.5in Maxxis tires, and SRAM MTH hubs keep your wheels spinning smoothly. Topping everything off is a Race Face seatpost and Juliana Segundo saddle that'll cradle you on everything from long XC rides to hard climbs to burly descents.
