Furtado Carbon S Complete Mountain Bike - 2015

The Juliana Furtado Carbon S Complete 2015 Women's Mountain Bike blends the best of beautiful aesthetics and discipline-defying performance for dissecting techy, boulder-strewn trails and smooth-buffed XC loops alike. Its self-assuring 68-degree head tube angle and five inches of VPP suspension are derived from Santa Cruz's highly praised 5010, giving you well-balanced geometry for attacking gnarly downhill sections, as well as furiously steep climbs. Its Carbon construction makes the Furtado Carbon every bit as strong and stiff as Juliana's top-flight Carbon C frames, at the expense of roughly a pound for the medium-sized frame. The upside is a much more palatable price that leaves room for better components, as demonstrated on this nicely spec'd "S" build.

The Furtado's incredible versatility and extremely agile feel come courtesy of its 27.5-inch wheels, 125mm of efficient VPP rear suspension, 17.1-inch chainstays, and low-slung bottom bracket. Its 27.5-inch wheels strike an ideal balance between the nimble feel of 26-inch wheels and the fast-rolling performance of 29ers. Strength and stiffness are enhanced with oversized 15mm collet-style hardware and a 12x142mm thru-axle out back.

It's matched with a nicely spec'd build that highlights its best characteristics for ultra-reliable, trail-taming performance. For the "S" build, RockShox provides a 130mm Pike RC fork up front with beefy 35-millimeter stanchions, with a FOX FLOAT CTD rear shock with signature Climb, Trail, and Descend (CTD) compression settings. The 2x10 drivetrain uses a blend of Shimano's XT and SLX groupsets, with a few SRAM bits sprinkled throughout. Other key components include a RockShox Reverb Stealth seatpost, as well as Juliana's new and improved 720mm Flat Bar, which adds a sturdier, more confidence-inspiring feel compared to the narrow gauge bars sourced on earlier versions.
