The Julbo Tasman Sunglasses are what happens when a classic design meets high quality and superb craftsmanship. They have high bright light protection while maintaining high contrast. Removable side shields, polycarbonate lenses, and a hard storage case come included. With the classic look of glacier glasses, these shades are at home snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or kicking it down in the valley.

Bottom Line: New technology with a classic design.

Good Glacier Glasses, but a little Fragile

By:
October 19, 2010

These work fine as glacier glasses. I got a pair for myself (big face) and a pair for my girlfriend (little face) and they cover both our fields of vision nicely. The flexible, moldable ear pieces are really nice. These things stay secure no matter what I'm doing, whether it's climbing or skiing.

They are, however, a little bit fragile, particularly the lenses. The coatings scratch very easily. You have to be very mindful to use lens cloths to clean them and have them either on your face or in the protective case. Still, I'm happy with them. They are now my go-to mountain glasses.

Also, they have a mirror coated front lens, not a dark coating like shown in the picture.

They'll certainly help with the wind, but my concern would be that since they are intended for sunny, snowy environments (lots of glare), they might be too dark.

Excellent Pair of Basic Glacier Glasses

By:
July 22, 2009

I know this might not meet everyone's requirements. But I think that these actually work well for an asian face. The primary reason is that the glasses sit high on the nose. And for those of us without a pronounced bridge, that makes a big difference.

I liked the removable side shields. They didn't give me any problems on my Rainier trip.

One thing I would add though, they did pick up a minor weird wear on the inside. I don't know how. Not scratches. But just a slight weird dis-colorization on the inside.

Overall .. great glasses at a fair price.

Tasman Alti Spec X6

The flexible arms are a big plus as you can adjust them to fit your ears. Comes with a hard case and lanyard. Add some nose protection and you are all set. These glasses are a little smaller than some of the other Jublo offerings such as the Explorer.
