The low-profile Julbo Nomad Sunglasses provide a close, sporty fit and excellent sun protection for alpine climbing on the world's high mountains. Julbo made these optically correct glacier glasses available with three non-interchangeable lens options to meet your needs. Both the models with the X4 and Cameleon lenses change tint to match lighting conditions. The photochromic Cameleon lenses also include an anti-fog treatment and polarization for reduced glare. Get the X6 lenses if you need dark glasses for high mountains. Removable side shields give the Nomad Sunglasses even more glare protection to keep you peepers safe from high-altitude sun.

Bottom Line: The Julbo Nomad Sunglasses block sun on high-altitude climbs and provide a low-profile fit that won't look strange in town.

One of the Best Purchases I've Made All Year

These glasses are absolutely AWESOME! Not only do they look good; the polarized/photochromatic lenses are a joy to wear. The lenses shift based on how intense the light is, so you can wear them everyday (including driving) as well as use them as full-on glacier glasses. I've tested them on a couple of very strenuous hikes and the anti-fogging really works. I damn-near have to keep friends from stealing my pair. It's so nice to be outside with these on that you start to loathe the thought of NOT wearing them. I HIGHLY recommend these! :)

Sun, what sun?

By:

I purchased these shades because I needed a replacement pair for high climbing. They are everything they claim to be: light, tight, tough, and definitely worth the investment. I did have to take them off every now and then when crossing rocky terrain and hard lava flows. Because of reduced contrast and the dark lenses, it was difficult to navigate the rough landscape. This is probably because it was a very sunny day and we were crossing lava beds/rocky terrain which tend to have very dark surfaces. That being said, these glasses are a must have if you want to protect your eyes at high altitudes.

Great Protection

By:

I just used these glasses for the first time on a climb of Mt. Hood on an extremely sunny day. They provided great protection and were just the right shade to offer great protection from the reflected sun, but not so dark to impede vision when dipping into shadowed sections of the route.
