Ignite your backcountry riding with the floaty shape and hard-charging response of the Jones Solution Wide Splitboard. Designed for bigger dudes with size 11+ boots, the Solution Wide Splitboard is just the ticket to blasting down open bowls, straight-lining chutes, and stomping cliff drops without pesky toe drag weighing you down.

Striving to reduce environmental impact wherever possible, the new ECO-plastic topsheet is made from Castor beans, making it lighter and more durable than before. Plus, it naturally sheds snow, so you're not hauling extra weight on the long uphill skin. Also new, the Quick Tension tail uses pre-cut notches to eliminate the need of a traditional tail clip (with use of Jones' Split Skins).

Loaded with a Directional Rocker profile, the Solution Wide Split has powerful camber underfoot, with a large, pronounced nose that rises early with a substantial rocker. The board's tail features less rocker for catch-free turns off the back foot. Ultimately, this rocker-camber hybrid delivers the powerful edge hold and responsive energy transfer of camber underfoot, but with the effortless float of a large rockered nose. And since the nose retains the blunted shape from the Flagship, it effortlessly busts through chop and variable conditions.

Another improvement made for 2016, the new Ultra Split-Core 2.0 uses triple-density wood, with hardwood stringers along the edges for increased impact-resistance, should you smash into rocks and tree limbs hiding under the snow. Its Quadrax fiberglass layup is made of multi-axis, multi-layered fiberglass meshed with tip-to-tail carbon stringers for the utmost in response and edge hold. Carbon also provides the snappy feel needed to boost off natural features, such as cliff drops and pillow lines. Oversized Recycled Steel edges are burly enough to withstand regular thrashings in the backcountry. Additionally, the Solution Split Wide features inner and outer Mellow Magne-Traction edges for extra grip when you're side-hilling on demanding ascents and riding down icy chutes and steeps.

Why Go For Anything Else?

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've ridden a few splits and a ton of solids and from the skin up to the ride down, I've got no reason to look at another splitboard. If you want to chat about this board, have me size one up or look at building a splitboard set up, let me know.

I'm riding this board with hardboots and love it. Still getting the fun surfy feel with better technical performance.

Skin Up:

Mega easy. This is a light board and compared to other boards I've used, it's lighter which helps on the longer tours. Everything is a bit more effortless. Keep in mind though, since I'm on hardboots, my tech toes make kick turns and skinning far easier for me.

Riding Down:

See the picture. Hopefully that'll explain how fun this board is. But this board handles like a dream on the ride down and on hardpack due to the mellow-magne traction.

*I ride a regular width version of this board.

My specs:

Height: 6'0''

Weight: 180lbs

Boot: US10 / Mondo 28.0

Board Size: 161cm

If you've got questions about this board, want me to size one up, build a split set up, chat about avy gear, hit me up and I'll get you set up.
