The solution to your resort problem.

Tired of fighting for a good spot in the tram line just to get at leftovers from the day before? Leave the resort behind and get yourself a lifetime season pass to the backcountry with the Jones Women's Solution Splitboard. Built for stability at high speeds and control when it counts, this hard-charging board handles the gnarliest descents you can get to on your own two feet. When you've had it with lift lines and tracked-out runs, this is the solution to your problem.

As part of its mission to create a more sustainable product, Jones added a new ECO-plastic topsheet to the Solution this year. Made from Castor beans, this topsheet is lighter and more durable than the harmful plastic kinds, and it naturally sheds snow so you're pulling less weight when you're breaking trail. Also new is the Quick Tension tail, which uses pre-cut notches in the tail to eliminate the need for a traditional skin tail clip. Camber between the feet keeps the Solution planted at mach speed and gives the board a responsive, poppy feel, while slightly more rocker in the nose than the tail offers effortless float in the deepest pow. Quadrax glass keeps it stiff for stability at high speeds and carbon stringers add torsional stiffness for increased pop and response.

Mellow Magne-Traction places bumps along the edge for insane edge hold on windblown, exposed lines, while the blunted nose keeps swing weight down for quicker turns. Magne-Traction is also featured on the inside edges for reliable edge hold on sketchy skintracks. Triple-density wood creates an ultralight and incredibly strong core, and this season Jones added hardwood strips to the outside edges for increased durability. Unlike traditional clips, the included Karakoram board clips actively pull both halves of the board together, which means less chatter and better response.

Here's what others have to say...

Ladies... I've been riding a 162 cm K2 Panoramic Splittie which is great for low angle carving but just to big (and heavy) for me to handle like I want in tight trees/steep chutes. However, I feel like a 6cm shrink is going to be huge. Any 5'10'' ladies out there riding larger mens boards, or do you stick with the ladies sizes? I'm technically within the weight range for all three sizes (140), but I'm scared the switch is going to make me feel like I'm on a baby snowboard. Thoughts?

What are your non-split sized snowboards? Can you get any where to rent a similar 156 board and see how it feels to you? These new age boards handle really well on hard charging while still being 'short' versus before when you'd really want to increase length to compensate. Given your light weight (for your height) I want to say you'd get all of the performance you want and need out of the Women's Solution without lacking any (if this is really the board you want/must have), but may take some getting used to on the shorter size. I actually had the opposite problem, I had to do a big trip in Japan rented a 161 Men's Solution (I am 5'4 and 120) and it was fantastic! Getting the '52 this season. Good luck!

Hey thanks! I haven't had a resort board since I bought my splitboard but I went from a 152 (which seemed really tiny) to the 162. I used the split at the resort a few times and it was totally fine on groomers, but like I said, tight turns in steep chutes or through deep pow in the trees was really difficult for me. I don't want to sacrifice that float in deep powder, but it sounds like the Solution gives you more float than you'd expect from a bigger board of a different sort. Shred on!
