Here's what others have to say...

Great, simple stove.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

The Sol makes getting hot water into your food wicked fast. After more than a dozen uses the longest I have had to wait for boiled water has been ~2 min at 12000 ft. The small jetboil fuel canisters give me about 15 boils each and the whole system is easy to set up. The integrated regulator and ignitor make the sol friendlier and more efficient to use than the flash. So far the Sol has functioned flawlessly during summer and fall at moderate altitudes. The compact size, for short trips where the fuel can go in the cup is exceptional . Will update after using through the winter.

When weight matters

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

They say you can't watch a pot of water boil but with the jetboil you literally can. This light weight camp stove is perfect for trips where you need to cut down on weight. The base locks into most fuel canisters giving you piece of mind, it wont tip over.

I would highly recommend the Jetboil for over night back country skiing trips. It melts the snow and brings the water to a boil in under 10 minutes.

The only problem I have had with it is the top. The top does not like to stay on especially after being used several times. At this point it is so warped I use string to tie it on when it is in my backpack. This isn't a big deal to me I just have to be careful pouring it and I don't bother drinking directly out of it.
