Quick cooker

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great luxury item I use on some of my backpacking trips. I can get tired of some of those meals. It cooks quick so be careful and watch your flame. I cook pancakes for breakfast. Lightweight and only have to add water. Instead of syrup, I like to use my peanut butter. Be sure you do bring a little cooking oil or you will have caked on mess.

Don't forget the stability kit!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This frying pan is awesome, the flux ring heats everything evenly and the plate that is included is very efficient. This does not come with two pieces that you need to use it on the jetboil though. You need the stability kit in order to use this.

Eating like a king.

This is a great pan. Super lightweight, and now I always get to make pancakes while out backpacking! It's not no-stick, so make sure to pack a little bit of oil or butter so you don't end up with a giant mess. It even comes with a plate attached to the bottom of it.

Great frying pan.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this little pan. Frying eggs, potatoes, onions or just making soup. Very handy, easy to pack. Heats evenly. I will try baking next.

Its Great... just need a stability kit

This pan will not fit on the jetboil without the stability kit, which is another $15. Beyond that, i love the pan as it makes my jetboil a ton more versatile. Bring a mini-bottle of oil on your backpacking trip as this thing is not "no stick." Eggs were a pain in the ass.

JetHead Fry Pan

I really like this pan. It is a little heavy and I generally only use it when canoe tripping, although, when bikepacking, with a friend, you can share the load! The heat transfer is almost immediate, so be ready to cook when you light your JetBoil. There is a cover over the Fluxring bottom that can be used for a plate/serving dish/prep dish. It will also store a JetBoil spatula.

does any one make a light weight 10" fry...

does any one make a light weight 10" fry pan to take on a back pack fishing trip ?

I also use the MSR Flex, it is lighter and cheaper than this product. If I remember correctly it is just shy of your 10 inch diameter.

Returned It

I wanted this to go along with my Jetboil but I was not happy with how heavy it is. I can't testify to how it works but it simply was too heavy to haul around in my backpack. I ended up getting a MSR titanium instead and have been very happy with that.

How does the MSR one work with your jet boil for eggs and stuff?

Responded on

The MSR one works fine but you have to be very careful with cooking anything on the Jetboil as it will burn easy. I mainly use the Jetboil for soups, pasta and boiling water.

not to shabby

I actually use this for car camping more then backpacking because it is fairly heavy. Worked good for pancakes. would have been 5 stars if it was lighter.

Not cool!!

I bought this under the assumption that it would simply fit on my jetboil. As it turns out you have to spend another $20 on a stability kit in addition to the $30 you have to spend on this pan (Why isn't there anything in the description about this?!!). But by the time you have spent $100 on the jetboil personal cooking system, and the $20 on the stability kit, you could just as easily use a $5 frying pan from Wal-mart. The only two differences are this has annoying and flimsy handles, and the Wal-mart pan will have to have the much sturdier handle screwed off. The second difference being the cost ($30 vs. $5)!! They really should just package them together for less cost and packaging filling up the landfills. Where is the environmental concern with jetboil anyway??? My stability kit didn't even come in a recyclable plastic package? I had to buy it from a different site, because didn't have it in stock?? It's alot of money and headache for a frying pan!!

Yes, it does stick a little, made eggs in it but it worked ok for me, just added a little extra oil. What was amazing is how fast it heats up, real fast so have your food prepped to cook right away.

There are a bunch on the Jetboil site. Get my Jetboil today so I'll be checking these out for myself soon enough.

Put Street Taco Stands to the test!

Screw the whole "meal in a bag" idea. Try this: Corn tortillas, lil bit of oil, and pre-made meat. Place 2 tortillas down with some oil, flip, then add meat. This bad @$$ pan will fry them up better then Ol' Mexico and better then the taco stands downtown. Cool device. Get it. All your friends will make fun of you if you don't.

Frypan Sucks

Piece of crap- Supposed to be non-stick, I had the flame as low as it would go, the eggs burned in the middle, and were raw at the outsides. They stuck so bad to the pan, I could not use it for anything other than dead weight the rest of my trip.

your cooking skills obviously suck! I have the Jet Boil system along with the fry pan. Some of the best cookware I've ever used. Heat transfer is immediate, so when you light up your burner, be ready to cook.

Amazing, what next will jetboil come up with. this is so much easier to cook bacon and eggs in than the group cooking pot and super easy to clean those scrambled egg encrustings off. Get the utensils also, they won't scrap up the coating and work well with this. be careful not to burn your food, this heats up really fast!
